Great interviews and both showing adequate respect for United must be hard one for their fans to take.

It would have been disrespectful to say no brainer. Switched on both of them.:50:

What are * expecting? The guys were probably up from the crack of dawn and excercising then on the go all day. In negotiations with their agents and then Celtic. Up to Glasgow late at night, emotionally drained, discussing important matters (maybe not finer details but they have to get involved at some level) and made to take interviews at mental hours.

I wouldn't be hyper harry. Armstrong is maybe just one of those guys.

Gary obviously on the swedgers though.......:56:I've seen a few in subby like that.

That's just the way he is. To suggest that he's unhappy with a move to one of the biggest clubs in world football is * ludicrous, quite frankly.

I think a lot of people were expecting Armstrong to come bouncing into the media room on a pogo stick singing BOTOB.

He could try to act a bit more pleased, but as noted above, the travelling and endless negotiations etc have probably taken their toll.

Both young guys, been at the same club for their entire professional career up until now. It's only natural that both would show United respect too since they both made their name there.

Good to see the two of them showing respect to Dundee United. Gary's still like a little boy on Christmas :smiley-laughing002:

To be fair to Armstrong it's difficult to look pleased next to wee GMS the happiest man on the planet.

In all seriousness, he was simply showing Dundee Utd respect in his responses. He clearly is genuinely upset to be leaving them behind, I just hope he can build a similar relationship with our club and fans.

Probably just being diplomatic. Dundee United have reared him, given him the opportunity to shine, trained him, paid (payed?) his wages all these years. He'l have mates there, he's lived there and has emotional ties with the club, fans and players. Saying ''it was a no brainer'' would be a kick in the teeth.

From what he said immediately after regarding Dundee Utd you can tell he meant it wasn't a no brainer because he found it difficult to leave them. I know he has moved but that sort of loyalty is what we need here if we are going to build quality squads, because England will always come calling.

Stay at Dundee United another 6 months and earn more money in England.

I think what he's getting at is he's made an informed decision.

I was getting a good kick out of watching his interview. He was beaming from ear to ear. Great to see a player coming in that hoepfully can do very well for us and be so excited and so obviously happy to be at Celtic.

Still, you'd think that he'd just say the usual bullshit.

I know this is going to be unpopular but I can't see these two playing for the jersey after listening to these press conferences. Not going to lie, really happy we've signed two players I rate very highly, but everything they've said is about themselves and not really the team.

It's clear they see us as just a stepping stone to England which actually makes me quite sad. Hopefully I'm wrong but I wasnt impressed with what they had to say.

Armstrong pretty much made it clear that when offers were on the table, he didn't just automatically pick Celtic.

I mean Burnley? Or staying at Utd? ffs.

More impressed with GMS tbf. Although he did quickly change the word 'fan' to 'spectator' when talking about when he went to the Barca game, just to make it clear that he can viably * off in a couple of years because he isnt Cellic through and through.

You're looking at it too ignorantly: decisions like these are not all black and white.

He might doubt his place in Celtic, will he get an immediate start, like at Dundee United? He could just stay there, be adored, get a wage and then move on to a fresh challenege in a good league, getting paid more - in the summer.

However, if he chooses Celtic, he has to fight for a place in the squad, will be paid less than in England and won't be adored. He's also away from his mates and his home.

    He's human ffs.

I'm sure he'll get considerably more cash here than at Utd and I'd much prefer to live in Glasgow than Dundee fs.

Plus chances of going straight to the Prem from Utd are slim, more likely Championship, where you'll probably be in some dire, grey as * town and on similar wages to Celtic.
