Possibly the best equivalent for WW2 would be British TV doing a comedy about life in Dresden in 1945 or maybe German TV doing a holocaust comedy. The people who died in the famine were civilians not combatants.

So why did over 300,000 Scots die and 1.7m Scot emigrate?

The potato famine hit Scotland at the same time. The potato famine hit a lot of Europe at the same time.

Depends how it was written. One of the two guys that make South Park is Jewish and they constantly rip Jews and the holocaust.

But, being technically Irish, I will update you on if I like this new show or not.

Putting Cork on your location does not make you technically Irish.

Your missing the biggest point here that the country responsible for all the death are the ones commissioning the show

Which no one responsible for is alive. The famine has absolutely * all to do with anyone in the British state today.

If there is a *, those responsible will be burning in it right this very second.

Don't see how that makes a difference.

As people said earlier. There is plenty of comedies set in tragic circumstances.
