Do we need to change formation?

Yes we need to change it

Been pumped all season because of it

 

Regardless of the system one thing we lack offensively is pace. We are so * slow getting forward.

Why try to be smart, just get out and play football, as a few others have pointed out, we just don't have the players at the moment.

Anyways, don't think the formation is to blame.

 

I agree I don't think it's their formation, but I don't personally like the current formation and I think we need a bit more quality to play one up front.

The 4-4-2 was a joke reference to Mike Bassett!

Stokesy will be a better partner upfront woth Guidetti and he still drofts wide left and links up with Izzy.

 

I'm not really against the formation and have said it myself in the past but players just don't seem as flexible now like they did with Lenny definitely need a proper left sided midfielder and and left winger in January wouldn't feel to comfortable with 2 ball playing center backs either but if basle who probably have the same quality of a squad as us ( probably even less nowadays ) can do then we should be able to

 

Basel have a better first 11 than us, no doubt.

 

They always just seem to have one up and coming player other than that the players wouldn't frighten me to much mind you we would still probably get wacked 5-0

 

Sign some players that can attack the ball in the box.....then work on crossing instead of trying to play it through 10 defenders like today.

 

Marco Streller, Xhaka, Walters even now, Delgado, Fabian Frei, Schar, Suchy are all very good players. Especially Streller, absolute beast up front.

 

Yes of course we need to change the formation. It has been obvious for months. The diamond is the correct formation for this group of players.

What was worrying though was that the formation was changed for some of the game today and we had the same problems. This is tactical. At times Efe is literally the only man back. Our defensive line is far too high. A few times a game all players except Gordon is in the opposition half. I reckon there is another Legia result to come our way if these problems are not fixed.

 

We've been absolutely desperate for a striker capable of knocking defenders about and scoring headers for years.

 

Walters and Delgado must be about 40 Streller to don't see why we shouldn't be able to compete with them though they should be on the same level as us

 

Still think we need to try Guidetti & Scepovic up front together.
