We dont create many more than last season and that was when we didn't use 4 attacking players in our team. Currently id say we create 7 or 8 good scoreable chances that is no more than last season when we weren't praising lennon for how his team creates so many chances.

We had 17 shots on Sunday, how many of them were not scoreable chances? That doesn't include the 'offside' goal either.

I don't think he's saying that we aren't creating chances, I think he's saying we aren't creating more than we did last year while being * at the back.

I think you can legislate for missed chances by the way, you get people on the pitch that are better at scoring. Who do you think is more likely to score far more goals out of this:

    Commons

    Guidetti Stokes

Stokes in a position that he scores a lot from, Commons in a position he scored 32 goals from last season and a genuine class striker in Guidetti or:

    Forrest Johansen Stokes

    Guidetti

An injury prone inconsistent winger, a player who has never scored over ten goals in one season, a striker playing on the wing (albeit doing very well, still not his best position though) and an increasingly isolated frustrated striker?

Guidetti is frustrated because he's missing, not because he's isolated. He's still getting the same chances he was earlier in the season.

Stokes probably has about the same amount of goals as last season so far.

We had 22 shots against St Mirren, 20 against Motherwell, 21 against Partick, i'd say we are creating enough chances to see out games quite comfortably.

Did Stokes not score like one goal before Xmas last year?

I would argue that in recent games we have been creating a lot more chances than we did last season and our attacking play is better. Stokes seems to be scoring fine from his new position and Johanson has been getting goals, therefor there are just as many goals in the team and more players to score them instead of relying on an aging midfielder to bang in 30 a season.

Crosses that go over peoples heads and out count as shots so you can chop about 5 of there, the shots van dijk,Guidetti and Johansen attempt from distance theres 3 andd there was the two over hit balls that dundee ran out of play. So we created 8 good chances more or less

Did well at the start then hit a bad run and I can't remember when he scored again. He really came alive last season when he got a strike partner in griffiths

Crosses that go over people's head count as shots? You really are clutching at straws :smiley-laughing002: How many shots did Van Dijk, Guidetti and Johansen take from distance? And why are they not counted as decent chances? If they had scored them would they just be a fluke to you? Would you take them off the scoreline? 3 over hit balls that Dundee ran out of play?? :56::56::52: That's not a shot then is it?

Also we hit the target 7 times which doesn't include hitting the post so you can take that up to 10 in your world and then the offside goal that's 11. That's still almost twice as many chances as Dundee United created.

You reckon Johansen could outscore Commons? Fair * to you, can't see it.

He's been alive this season on the left. Contributed directly to almost 20 goals in the first half of the season.

In Scotland we should play with 2 strikers. End off. In europe we can adapt the formation and tactics.

Dont forget Lennon played 2 up top in our famous win against Barca. Granted Miku was dropping very deep but still he is a striker.

I am not necessarily advocating playing 2 up top in europe but iam making this point.

I think that the system we play should be changed and i have thought this since day 1. Our biggest problem as we have seen is with the system as a whole though and not with the fact that he is playing 1 central striker.

Ah, that's the way I read it. Then how does that bring more goals? Especially if we aren't putting our chances away. I'd trust Commons infront of goal far more than I would Johansen or Forrest.

No they do set pieces and crosses that go out of play at the endline, although they might not look like shots, they do.
