Never been to an away game

    Hey guys,

I've never been to an away game and was wondering if i need to be careful or is it likely to be a fairly amicable and safe affair?

    Any tips?

    thanks

I would think you'll be OK in Milan, the fansI met from there at the game last week all seemed like decent guys. But, like any City you visit, be it for football or not, you should take some care.

Ajax a few years ago was no real problem, Ajax last year was a nightmare!

What do you mean by take some care exactly? How bad was Amsterdam last year? I saw it in video but would like to know how it was for someone there.

I think it is mostly common sense: do not wander alone at night, do not wear Celtic colours visbily when alone or in very small numbers, do not start or engage in trouble with the police or Inter fans, do not be too drunk so that you can ensure you can back to your hotel...

I hope everything goes smoothly, as I do not want to be caught up in any trouble either. I have only been away in Europe with Celtic to Barcelona twice (obviously very safe) and Ajax (friendly, no trouble there).

Only fans that would try to attack us like Ajax did would be Lazio, the rest are not a problem but still I would say be careful on some situations(not walking alone at their places and not to drunk).

So Ajax instigated the trouble last year? I doubt any Lazio fans would turn up, but then again I'm a novice at all this

Ajax attacked a pub with Celtic fans in it and tried to provoke Celtic fans at some other occasions. The incidents involving the police was the police fault though.

Take care the same as you would when you visit any major City that you are not familiar with. Unlikely that you'll be attacked by their fans, more likely to be pick-pocketed than anything else.

Amsterdam was just a *, total overkill by the Police but also a nasty undertone with some of the Ajax supporters. I'm sure there's something on here about the trip.

Hey guys, I'm an Inter fan based in Milan.
Last week we had problems with Feyenoord fans, I know you're not the same but maybe police will be on alert.. Just two things more: in Duomo there's no pubs, maybe you'll find ambulant sellers rising prices. Be aware of that. If you want to gather after(or better before) the game I think the best option is Colonne di San Lorenzo (Metro 2) or Arco della Pace (no metro, but easily reachable) which are usually the spots where to have fun. Near arco della pace there's also the 442 pub, which is pretty good.
At last, do not try to take the metro after 6pm. People starts to come back home from work, it is already almost impossible to get in in normal days..I wonder how could it be with 5000 of you around!

For the aggressions well, cnts are everywhere, even among you but I don't think there will any problem with the Ultras side.

Amsterdam last year was nuts. We were all drinking in Dam square singing when suddenly big dutch guys in casual gear started attacking Celtic fans.

Anyway I fly out 8am tomorrow from Stanstead. Looking forward to this trip, think we can win as well!

Was reading online that it kicked off because of heavy handed police, from some pics and vids the police looked well over the top..... then again police in Rome probably differ from the ones in Milan
