    Jesus * Christ! :31:

We always * up when we should win? Shouldn't we be out of the EL, the SC and LC by now then?

What the * is wrong with some people on here? Either trolling or thick as *.

Either way Celtic Chat is really off putting just now.

We loose when we should win

    :56:

One look at our trophy cabinet says otherwise.

Just such a lazy throwaway remark, like when under Lennon everyone said we always lost the "big games"

they were only deemed big games if we lost them funnily enough.

Ronnie Deila may think he’s just starting out at Celtic says John Hartson but I’ll tell you this much…if he loses to Rangers tomorrow he’s FINISHED.

Don’t give me all that stuff about how Old Firm games can go either way. I don’t want to hear it.

Don’t say Bradford’s result againstChelseaproves anything can happen on any given day. That just doesn’t wash.

Sure, upsets occur in football. If they didn’t, nobody would bother turning up.

But the bottom line with this one is that anything other than a comfortable, straight-forward Celtic victory and the manager can forget it.

Chances are the club wouldn’t sack him because he’s their project.

To bin him would also require the powers that be to admit they got it spectacularly wrong. Which I can’t see happening. But for me Deila would lose the faith of the supporters, who have stuck by him from day one — and there could be no way back from that.

I’ve had it tiRonnie Deilamay think he’s just starting out at Celtic.ght from a few for speaking my mind.

But I’ve said it before, and it’s worth repeating. It’s only because I have so much feeling for the club that I’m speaking up.

If I didn’t care I would toe the party line.

But I do care and for me Deila has still got to prove he’s got what it takes to be manager of that great club.

If he wins the treble this season, fair enough.

You could argue Celtic should sweep the board domestically but I’d be prepared to give him some credit.

What I’m not willing to do is accept a Rangers win tomorrow.

This is a club on its knees, ravaged by problems, not only behind the scenes but in full view of the watching world.

The directors can’t even sort out tickets for their players, for crying out loud. There are clearly massive issues within Ibrox with all the problems on the board and those trying to buy control.

In all honesty I don’t know the ins and outs of it.

What I do know is that as a team — as a group of footballers — they’re not on the same level as Celtic.

Sure, they have one or two decent individuals — Lee Wallace has always been a good player and guys like Lee McCulloch and Kenny Miller are good pros, but that’s nowhere near enough and if I was in that Celtic dressing room I would be looking to hammer Rangers. I’d be looking to go for their throats and really make a statement. By that I mean scoring three, four, five goals and sending the Rangers support home early.

They have got to be worried sick thinking about what could happen.

I reckon there will be Rangers punters just hoping they don’t get a hiding, thinking they’d gladly take a 2-0 defeat before a ball is kicked.

That says it all in my book.

It was never like that in my day, no matter what was happening at either club the games were always on a knife-edge.

But those days are long gone, Rangers are unrecognisable from the club they once were.

Are they still the same club?

I know that’s a debate that rages between both sides and in all honesty I don’t know the rights and wrongs of it.

What I do know is that this IS an Old Firm game because it’s Celtic against Rangers and no matter the circumstances that’ll always be a special game.

In 100 years it won’t be written in the history books that Rangers were in turmoil when this game was played, it will say the score — and for me that’s the only thing that matters.

The Rangers players have 90 minutes to give their supporters something to smile about — something unexpected in their own eyes.

But who could blame them for thinking that way?

They’re operating in a different stratosphere at the moment in terms of footballing ability and stature as clubs.

So I’m not going to sit here and say Rangers have as good a chance as Celtic.

I refuse to go along with the usual guff that anything can happen in a derby match.

Usually it can but not this time. And I just hope Deila gets that, genuinely, for his sake.

I’ve been critical of him from day one and I stand by every word but I would take absolutely no pleasure from seeing him suffer.

I just don’t think he could survive a defeat.

I don’t think the punters would let him.

They’ll be going to Hampden desperate to see their team wipe the floor with Rangers.

They will not be happy unless they play them off the park and smash them with a bundle of goals. Neither should they.

Winning 1-0 thanks to deflected goal might be okay in other games but not this week.

Only a good victory should see Deila running to those supporters after the final whistle pumping his fists.

Otherwise, he may well have a queue of folk lining up to grab him by the throat.

I'll take a 90th minute OG off Lee McCullouchs * any day of the week, as long as we are in the final.

Super Caley? Raith Rovers? Clyde? Morton?

Stranger things have happened. And they have more support to.

That sounds like one bitter guy by the way. Did we knock him back for the job or something?

Him and Sutton are really * me off.

    Really * * me off.

I really don't want to start hating two of my favourite players growing up but they are trying their best to make that happen.

Who needs enemies eh when you have two former players willing to heap shitloads of extra pressure on our new manager.

Hartson isn't bitter. Neither is Sutton. I think both those guys still hold Celtic to the standards we set while they were playing for us. Which is probably unrealistic given that we've slashed our budget since then. They only want to see the club do well and scale the heights we scaled while they were here though. Their hearts are in the right place.

A few huns around my area think they will win because their players have played in more oldco derbies than ours and they have more experience

    Elbows
    Monster Munch
    Misser
    Hutton

    We have

    Brown
    Izzy
    Matthews
    Commons
    Stokes
    Forrest
    Mulgrew(injured)

So i dont see their logic in having more experience than us in the oldco derby

They really aren't Marky. They don't like Ronny and have been all over him since he walked in the door. This isn't two concerned fans, this is two mates of Lenny's who are butthurt over Ronny's criticisms of our fitness levels and they have been riding him for it ever since.

This apparent change of tact from Sutton is just setting up his next critical piece if we dont annihalate these mutants tomorrow, believe me, if we only win 1-0 or 2-1 he will be back to laying into Ronny.

Both are actually giving sevco their teamtalk for tomorrow. Articles pinned on dressing room and all that.

    Disgraceful from both of them.

They don't have a good word to say about us, and Ronny in particular. Not sure what they're motives are behind the constant criticism, but it's gettig very, very annoying.

Sutton in particular, he is just a *. Don't get me wrong, on the pitch he was brilliant for us, loved watching him, but he just takes every single opportunity to tear into the club these days. Even his article the other day, that * about us beating them blindfolded heaped extra unnecessary pressure on us.

What a lot of tosh. See if it was just one or two articles on our progress under Ronny then perhaps you would have a point - as it is it's article after article after article, thrown in with sniping on tv, and tells us something far different.

Loved Hartson and Sutton as players but wish both of them would shut the * up.
Don't know what Ronny has done to them but they really have it in for him.

It's fine to criticise the club if you feel performances aren't to the standard you expect, but Hartson and Sutton seem to be constantly sticking the knife in, and trying to up the pressure on Deila at every turn.

Hartson and Sutton are both winners. If the manager gets us playing to an acceptable level then he will have no problem from them boys. We have seen massive improvements since Commons has come back into the side and i expext more to come, keep it up RD. BBJ is right, if we dont win he is finished. Everyone on here knows it.

This. Said this in another thread somewhere. Sutton isn't stupid he knows exactly what he's doing. His 'blindfolded' comment gives sevco all the motivation they need, does nothing for us & denies Ronny any credit for a victory (unless it's a cricket score) even before a ball is kicked. Two shocking pieces from two ex Celts who should & most certainly do know better.

I heard Hartson had thrown his hat in the ring for some recent managerial vacancies, is there not some sort of etiquette when it comes to talking about other managers. I'm sure he wouldn't take to kindly if the shoe was on the other foot.
