Kris Boyd and his 2 league goals and it's nearly February, can't wait to see the problems he will cause sitting on the bench. Taking up 2 seats is about the only problem that'll occur.

I mention only because, having visited theses forums for nearly ten years now, I noticed a trend, that whenever there is an overwhelming confidence, arrogance almost, that we will win whoever it is we're playing, we invevitably end up losing, be it derby, cup games or european.

    This.

Lose all sense of a normal competitive football match and win by a cricket score? Yes.

Every team in every sport is capable of beating each other and have since the begging of time. Thats nothing new and could be said before every game ever.

And form between who? if form between two certain teams goes out the window, then why would people then decide that form between X team and X other teams come into contention to decide wether that form would or would not go out the window against X other team?

    Its a pointless expression.

Their best player, the only one who could even conceivably cause us any problems, was a mediocre player at Motherwell before he regressed due to playing 2 years in Scotland's lower divisions. Would you be this scared about playing Motherwell?

These players have gave us more than enough problems playing for the likes of Kilmarnock, Hearts etc.

Where is also this confidence that we're going to score for fun? Our frontline is dire.

When did Boyd cause us problems for Kilmarnock? Even last season not 1 of his 22 league goals came against us.

He is a non entity against us and always has been.

1 goal in 20 games against Celtic in his entire career, shaking so I am.

We could, form goes out the window when Celtic play Motherwell, then again it goes out the window when Celtic play Stirling Albion and when we play Barcelona and when we play Aberdeen and when Aberdeen play Partick Thistle. Form is never in the window, so anyone could beat us and we could beat anyone in a random order from our first ever game until our last.

This makes me think we'll either win, lose or draw no matter who we play.

Boyd couldn't even cause us problems when he was with them first time round, when he was 'in his prime' and actually looked like a striker who could do a job in Scotland.

Was just thinking how everybody sets this up for a major upset the media etc blabbing about if they beat us! I would agre till an extent but the reasons they give are *! This team are absolutely * I've seen it with my own eyes... But how is this any different to losing to any other first division team or is being beat of killie a few years ago? Why's it any different to sevco losing to a bunch of plumbers etc in their own league ? Sevco has an spfl standard team wether they are * are know just look at how many players have played against us in that treat before for any other spfl club! So why is this being touted as the biggest upset ever if we lose ?

Nah over the last 10 yrs Celtic have been overwhelming favourites and the fans supremely confident for the vast majority of our games and we have easily won the majority of those games.

It will be for Sevco but not for us, Sevco have never beat a team of our calibre before but we've lost to worse teams than Sevco.

Like when we beat Barcelona it was probably our best ever win but Barcelona have lost to hundreds of worse teams than Celtic.

Law, Templeton, Miller, and Boyd gonna cause us * problems? If that's the case we may as well pack it in. They are all much worse than they were in their prime (when they were also bang average)

Their team is absolute garbage. Not one of their players would even make it to our bench. They will crumble beneath us. All season they have tried to be the attacking team in games and don't know how to defend. If they try an attacking game against us they will be ripped apart. And if they try to sit back and defend for 90 minutes, their fans will be ripping into them.

I'm obviously slightly nervous for the obvious reasons as with any cup game but I'm pretty sure we will * destroy them.

    Is this thread for real.

    Anyway, I'll play along.

I think we will win but at the same time it might not be as much of a hounding as alot of people think.

Look at it this way, we struggled to break down County at the weekend and have done before when a side sets up like that. If the Huns do the same then it might only be a 1-0 or 2-0 at the most.
