Anyone think it's weird how often we are drawn away from home in it :97:

These are our last draws in order 2009-now

    St Mirren AWAY
    Morton AWAY
    Dunfermline AWAY
    Kilmarnock AWAY
    Berwick AWAY
    Rangers AWAY
    Inverness AWAY
    Peterhead AWAY
    Inverness AWAY
    Dundee Utd AWAY
    Arbroath HOME
    Raith Rovers AWAY
    St Mirren AWAY
    Hearts AWAY
    Aberdeen HOME
    Hearts AWAY

We have been drawn Away in 14 of the last 16 ties in the Scottish Cup, something dodgy about that, no danger would you be that unlucky :97:

You go back further to 2005 and 21 of our last 27 draws in it have been away from home. Its not even funny.

To compare it with the two Ibrox teams in that time:

    Hamilton HOME
    Hamilton AWAY
    St Mirren AWAY
    Dundee Utd HOME
    Kilmarnock HOME
    Celtic HOME
    Arbroath AWAY
    Dundee Utd HOME
    Forres AWAY
    Alloa HOME
    Elgin HOME
    Dundee Utd AWAY
    Airdrie HOME
    Falkirk AWAY
    Dunfermline HOME
    Albion Rovers HOME
    Dumbarton AWAY
    Kilmarnock HOME

They've had 11 Home ties and 7 Away in the same time as weve had 2 Home and 14 Away.

I'm not one for conspiracies or anything but that's pretty mental.

Still I think it probably really is just unfortunate.

The zombie one looks quite normal, ours however :97:

That is one helluva run of bad luck.

Its meant to be a 50/50 chance though but the outcome for us has been 12/88 :smiley-laughing002:

Definitely dodgy but it is better for Scottish football if we're drawn away which may go some way to explaining it....

Aye that's weird right enough. Prefer being away from home in the cups anyway though. Celtic Park is a morgue at the best of times never mind when it's only a quarter full, as it invariably is for cup games.

Its just bad luck. These things happen. It's like red coming up 10 times in a row on roulette. Not likely, but possible and it happens.

It's like red coming up 14 times out of 16, the odds are massive.

If 50 people on this forum flipped a coin 16 times, it'd be really unlikely that any of us would get 14-2 heads or tails.

I just flipped a coin 16 times and got 9-7 to heads lol

I don't think Rangers'/Sevco's record is particularly dodgy. Yes they've got a slight excess of home advantage but I don't think it's so bad that it's obviously fixed.

I do always wonder with our draw though – we seem to be drawn away in the Scottish cup all the * time and the numbers definitely stack up. With a 50/50 chance of home/away and getting ten straight away fixtures (St. Mirren, top, to Dundee United) are one in 2^10 or one in 1024.

I have always questioned in the past why they've got home advantage so often but looking at the numbers I think my suspicion is more because we've always drawn away rather than them always being drawn at home.

There are obvious financial benefits to them being drawn at home more often than we are (gate receipt differences and thus potentially narrowing any financial gap during their time of trouble, progression probability giving more money for them), and they got an easy as * run last year until they ended up with United but it'd be pure conspiracy so not going there.

The number of "all SPL" ties is pretty ridiculous...

Odds of 14 away ties out of 16 are 1 in 546.

    Keep flipping that coin...

We're probably as well playing away anyhow considering we didn't win either of the home games on that list.
