Youths including the trialists beat St Johnstone 5-3 today in a bounce game at Barrowfield, St Pats youngster Darragh Markey was amongst the scorers :50:

Sounds like a good game at St Johnstone. The youth teams seem to be capable of scoring a lot of goals which can only be a good sign.

I think a lot of the Development Squad are going to be out on loan next season because they sound too good to be let go but also not ready for the first team yet.

I don't know why they don't show these games. I think it would be good for fans to see the progression of our youth and the philosophy of our system connecting with the first team.

Plus there is almost too much pressure on Nesbitt now to make an impression. If we'd seen him playing regularly for the Development Squad then we'd know what he's capable of and not expecting more.

    Aye, they have.

Just two minute highlights now. :31:

Lazy * haven't even put Fridays highlights up yet.

They're getting pelters for it in the comments section. Doubt they'll take any notice though.

CELTIC will take on Valencia in the UEFA Youth League play-offs at Celtic Park on Wednesday, February 10 (KO: 5pm).
The Young Hoops were drawn against the Spanish side after beating HJK Helsinki and Puskas Akademia in the qualifying stages of the competition, and a place in the last 16 is now up for grabs for the winner of February’s one-off match.
Celtic entered this season’s tournament through the Domestic Champions path, a new addition for the 2015/16 campaign, and were paired with Valencia after they finished second in their group in the UEFA Champions League path.
The winner of February’s match at Paradise will go into the draw for the last 16 alongside the other play-off victors and the eight group stage winners. The first round in the knockout stages will see teams play in single-leg ties before the semi-finals and final are played in the form of a final tournament at the Colovray Stadium, Nyon, Switzerland.

Aye that is a huge game for the lads. Great experience for them. Will be interesting to see the line up. I have no idea how good Valencia are but they're Spanish so they're going to be technically very good no doubt.

Wonder if we'll get a stream of this from Eufa?

I rely on you for updates :smiley-laughing002:

That is quite a scary stat, especially the goals condeded one. Then again the goals scored tally isn't too bad either dam :smiley-laughing002: I'm getting the feeling they're a very good team. I wonder how good that league is. I generally reckon in Spain it will be higher level than ours. Much bigger country and advanced coaching facilities. Valencia will probably think themselves favourites.

Just hope it's a good match up.
