My kind of take on it though is that we have a 'genuine' youth setup, where we've brought most of these lads a long way together, organically. The big teams like City and Chelsea have bought in and assembled a weaponised setup akin to a lower league first team, and at 21yo many of these guys would easily hold first team positions in leagues as good/better than ours, and come close enough to comparable to our main team.

The development team is always likely to be the underdog/runt of the litter (as personal interpretation sees fit). It's quite positive to see team unity and individuals standing up/out at that level for me, even if its only 1 or 2, and for 45-60mins.

I get what you mean here. The scope of their networking, investment and pull allows them to take confirmed and recognised world class prospects at a later age that on their own right could be playing first team football at a good level at 18, although not at their current club.

While our lads have come through the club on a kind of long term apprenticeship.

We might not have Europes best in each position but have the environment to nuture and produce 1 or 2 very good players every couple seasons.

    That's good news :50:

I mean I've never heard of them before but they sound like they take development seriously, I mean the 'Fledgling' Falcons start from 3 - 5 years old wow that is learning early. Even an average joe must be accomplished at 18 if he's being trained at 3. I don't even know if Messi was playing at 3. Although he was spotted by a major scout at 5 :smiley-laughing002:

52 International Partner Clubs is great, must give us a good shout for potential talent, networking opportunites for our scouts and also exchanging coaching ideas. Just good to know we're really taking it seriously. I'm sure any budding talent would love to join Celtic. Unless they're a midfielder. Barca's is easier to get into.

I wonder if Thirsk have produced anyone of note. Are there any famous Yorkshire footballers? Only one I know plays for Bilbao, Ebai Gomez.

Saying that, I wish Ronny would stop taking Nesbitt to away games in Europe just for the experience of travelling with them. I've given up anticipating his arrival. Almost building him up too much, doesn't need the pressure as it'll take a few games before he can be judged anyway. Just all those goals he keeps scoring, nothing more exciting than a No.10 goal scorer. Who would he replace though? Big queue in front of him. Realistically he'll be on loan next season. Christie and Henderson have still to come back jeez oh that's serious competition. Ronny must be buzzing because Hendry and Thompson are meant to be excellent in the youth squad too aren't they? That much creativity and with our defence stable we'll have a great chance of the treble and CL football. Ronny is going to do it!

Do we have a decent striker in the youth team? Donnelly?

Aye a win would be great. Wish it was streamed cause it would be good to see how we play compared to the first team.

I've got Liverpool TV on and it's not showing the game, Premier League Preview Show is on *.

I wasn't here for the Chelsea game but I read a bit afterwards, sounds like a horrible first half hour.

Only 4 players on the bench for Celtic

Ah thanks Crow but I can't find it on the Liverpool.com site. There is another Liverpool site LFC Go Tv but that's £5 a month.

Good to hear Kelleher playing well.
