And with regards to Biton, it really depends what side of the fence you are on if you support Israel the IDF and the bombing of women and children in Gaza then Biton is a hero to you, if you don't then he would be classed as a war monger.

When you look at it, our whole youth development side of things is incredibly bad.

For a club our size, how many youth players that have risen through our ranks have actually had successful careers and good footballers? Maloney, McGeady that about it.

Can say we're neglecting Scotland best players from domestic clubs but fundamentally unless our attitude at player development changes, these players are actually better away from Celtic Park. Look at the likes of McCarthey, MacArthur etc from Hamiliton, Gauld & Robertson at Dundee United etc. I'm convinced we would have ruined them as players.

Their is no technical training in the youth. Just pure win at all cost, from top to bottom. Along with that, they wont get any game time. Gauld made 45 appearances for Dundee United, before being sold. We are never going to give anyone that chance. Even, if they we signed them for an another SPL club.

Only have to watch under 21 football to see the difference. Croatia vs England was on the other night, and the difference technically at that age was unreal. Can see why these nations are producing much better football players technically (Croatia that is).

100% We're apparently revered for our scouting yet we cannot lock down a deal for a smashing left back. A position we are in desperate need of strengthening.

I look at Stephen Fletcher and we all know what thats about.

Gauld, some say he was an impossible target for personal reasons.

We should be wasting our money on those players rather than lads from Europe.

These boys are being secured by top Championship teams that are flirting with the EPL, if not playing for the smaller teams in that leaguem which is actually a compliment considering the vast majority of the EPL are Europeans. Is it something like 30% are English in the EPL.

Our scouting baffles me at times.

Other times I wonder if these young Scots would end up with decent money in a country where they are pals with folk that could lead them astray, the social aspect is a major issue in this country, it's probably better for them to move outwith to concentrate on football.

 

Nasser you judge Goodewillie , on his football ability or lack of it , however you use a different criteria to judge Briton .

By the way has your army not blasted women and children in Irag and other places . Is it ok for the British army to murder left right and centre in places from Irag to Ireland .

The people who complain about Celtic not signing players from Scottish clubs are looking back with hind sight . Fletcher was no great deal when playing in Scotland , no better than 20 goal Chris killen . Having had good times and bad times in the Epl , he is now written up as a legend . One thing is definite , if he had signed for Celtic , even though his manager refused him we wouldn't ever got a bid of £12 m for him , or even the half of it .

 

Surely you know why youth players get a game at clubs like Dundee Utd .
Manager has little choice his senior players are inferior to his young players .
It's not rocket science.

Still think that some Scottish or Irish kids who know what Celtic are all about would be better than a bunch of loanees,who will never want to sign for us anyway.

 

100% agree we SHOULD have signed some of the players you have talked about but yet again we did not want to pay the money for them and went and wasted it on the likes of Pukki ect.

We need more Scottish or SPL players in the side.

Fletcher was highly rated.and reaching under 20 finals with Scotland from where he was the absolute.pick of the.bunch..
He's rated in England and scored whenever fit, ask.burnley, wolves it sunderland fans.of his.ability and goals and overall play where today again he was.outstanding as well as coming on in Germany

 

I agree with you about some fans looking back with hindsight.

However, most fans wanted Fletcher before a move to England was on the table. It happens a lot. We seem to ignore the fact that there is talent up here. It's relatively cheap talent at that too.

I couldn't give a monkey that these players may not be ready to play for us. We cannot afford to buy the finished article. We may as well buy your SPFL talent and improve our team in the following years.

Maybe we feel we can't make a decent profit on these players like we could with foreign imports. It's a shame because our best teams had great links to Britain and, most importantly, Scotland.

Currently we have very few decent Scots in our team despite there being Scottish talent out there in our own league which is affordable.

Players we could take a gamble on would be Armstrong and Ciftci. Both would offer more than others in their position who we have on our books. More will emerge through out the season but we need to stop ignoring it.
