    A lot of fans probably panicked and wanted him out early but I wouldn't say most did. Majority of supporters (those who don't take what the likes of Hartson and Sutton say as gospel) I reckon realised we are in a transitional season and knew that granting the new manager time was a must.

    Unfair to want Ronny out before given time to show what he can do.

    We were trying to play possesion football with players who were unused to it and who could hardly string three passes together.

    Yet there was gentle but steady improvement even in the early days.

    That should have been enough for any reasonable person to give him more time to implement his system.

    If you look at what I wrote I said that many fans were thinking he "maybe" wasn't the right man for the job, not that he definitely wasn't. I thought he was probably out of his depth at that time but I didn't want him sacked.:50:

    Exactly this, nobody shied away from the disappointing results and I would say most had doubts about the system at times.

    However most could see the team improving and getting fitter.
