Oh they will. IS will fight harder and longer than the Iraqi army ever did. They themselves made mincemeat of the Iraqi army over the last 6 months. Only the US and Iran's interventions have slowed them down.
The Syrian army are no mugs either and they are giving as good as they are getting.
Never underestimate someone who is willing to kill & die for his imaginary friend.

Extensive arming of the Peshmerga and making the surrounding countries ala Saudi Arabia, Free Syrian Army, Turkey, Iran, UAE, Qatar etc. all work together (which is easier said than done, granted) was the way to go I'd say.

There is no planning at all in this. Another half baked decision to go into a war. Brilliant

the bombing of Baghdad wasn't carpet bombing. it was, to use the American phrase, ''precision strikes'' this is the same precision strikes that they boasted could identify and hit a target within a 1sqm area from a control point from the other side of the world. yet they still managed to blow the * out of the Chinese embassy, a building the size of a small block of flats.

They have often bombed their own troops. They also killed four Canadians in Afghanistan.

In the case of the chinese embassy, I would imagine, they hit exactly what they meant to hit. That was what I meant in my post.

A legitimate military target for whom? The UK will throw billions at a 'war' because the US told them to.

I am absolutely heartbroken my Country didn't rid themselves of these butchers once and for all last week. Instead we remain tarnished by association - the blood of the innocent civilians that have and will perish or on the UK's hands.

Its funny, well if your not Scottish, that your masters are not even their own masters. A vote for independence would have freed you of both the English and the Amreicans.

I hope Russia intervenes on behalf on Assad's regime and together they destroy ISIS and the insurgency in Syria. If the puppet government in Iraq are squealing for Western intervention then they'll get it,but no nation has any right whatsoever to be bombing Syria. They are simply doing Israel's dirty work.

An absolutely disgraceful situation Britain (shudders) finds itself in. Again following American led military action. I'm utterly disgusted by the war mongering nation we are. A nation of violence and perceived military jingoism. The reason we're going back is because if the absolute * mess we made 10 years ago illegally. Westminster have so much blood on their hands they think this will somehow cleanse it off. I hate humans at times.

Free Syrian Army massacred the entire Christian population of Al-Duvair village (near the Lebanese border), May 28, 2013.

Considered as "moderate" Islamist, the Free Syrian Army is supported by NATO and the GCC.

The Yanks are telling us these * are moderate.

Beheading people and eating their hearts, very moderate.

It's quite worrying how we were denied independence last week and looking at a new 'war' this week.

Each and every collateral is a propaganda coup for the Islamists. It's like handing martyrs on a silver plate.
