At the Scotland Ireland game in Dublin I went to years ago all the Scotland Rangers players got dogs abuse. I dont mind though as its all panto IMO and it was done in good humour and the atmosphere between both sets of fans was great in and out of ground. I would never want Scotland and Ireland to not be very friendly fans as they both have great reputations for being a laugh with no nastiness at all. We are the only two Gaelic nations in the world so we should be close. Now England fans is a different story - some of them are absolute vermin

I have been working on my subtlety and diplomacy skills. Probably a wee bit of fine tuning to be done before I get the bus up n meet my Jock mates next week.:56:

We got on very well with the Scottish fans before the game. A bit of healthy banter on the walk to the stadium and it was all good natured. The booing of McGeady, though, made for a hostile atmosphere during and after the game.

I think the sheer cost of international games means the worst total scumbags dont go. However for some reason England seems to manage to have utter scumbags who obviously have plenty of money among their support

While I understand the disappointment re Aidan I think its been a lot of years now and people with any sense and maturity need to let it go.

There is a difference between Irish fans booing Huns and Celtic supporting Scottish fans booing Celtic(or ex Celtic players) or don't you agree?

That's hypocritical in my opinion but you're entitled to yours.

Fair enough. I don't see it as hypocritical in the slightest but you are entitled to your opinion .

I'm a Celtic fan and mcgeady was my best player when here and I still like to watch him and like him

But if I was there last night I would have booed * right out if him. You can clearly see it affected his game and that only helps benefit the Bonnie Scotland

I can't help wondering who was booing A Soldiers Song and The Fields when by all accounts the very "small minority" (according to some on here) of flag waving, xxxxl, west of Scotland unionist bigots have turned their back on their national team?

Old habits die hard it would seem.

I would be willing to bet there was quite a few tims relishing the chance to work their vocal chords in opposition to those songs last night...

For myself, Scottish fans especially at home games are the twelfth man which is fantastic. If they can provide the team with support by heckling another player from the opposition then brilliant as it worked to great effect last night as McGeady was non existent. I wouldn't boo him because of his choices but boo to put a a good attacking threat from the opposition off his game.

Nothing personal at all in my opinion. The same could happen to any English born player representing Scotland on Tuesday.

Time to move on from this molehill.

The Scotland fans were practically silent for the 90 minutes yesterday except for when McGeady had the ball and after the goal.

I think it is fair to say that all the build up with this from the media and the booing had a clear impact on his game.
