I think there should have been a full stop after Ireland . I think he is saying although Mulgrew took a few dives last night he didn't turn on him because he realised the hypocrisy of doing this as a Celtic fan.

Ah well - cross purposes. Lets leave it at that. I personally didnt want McGeady booed or anything that might spoil the party atmosphere. TBH I dont think it was good for Aidan to even have the Ireland fans constantly singing his name. Probably just wanted it all to be a nothing side issue and not focussed on him and it would have been pretty hard for him with all that pressure. I think the less he is focused on the better for both sets of fans and him. Being annoyed about Aidan's choice is something I havent felt for many years myself. I actually probably more wish McCarthy had played for Scotland but he seems a nice bloke and I dont have any beef with him. I heard he was put in a position by his granddad asking him to play for Ireland on his deathbed or something like that and I am not going to criticise him for that.

Fair enough - everyone is different. I personally think it kind of breaks the spirit of international football to bring club things into it but each to their own.

There's people saying they would support a rangers player if they played for there country I wouldn't and I'd support any country with Celtic players on the team unless it's against Ireland then I just lean towards Ireland but I was annoyed when quinn clattered Mulgrew at the end

I think this could be a case of which team you support more. The majority of Irish fans would put Ireland way above their club team(mostly BPL) Many Celtic fans from Ireland would put them on a par with some going minority preferring one over the other(Celtic for me)

I would guess that in Scotland most of the fans outwith those who follow the capital teams have a preference for the national side over the club side. While many Celtic fans would be the reverse. Ergo most Celtic fans who put club before country should not boo McGeady.

I wouldn't agree with that. Scott Brown and Charlie Mulgrew were Ireland's enemies last night. I'm an Ireland supporter so they were my enemies too, for 90 minutes.

For me enemies is too strong a word. I would like to have seen them play badly but had I been at the game there is no way I could bring myself to boo either of them.

Booing is not really a thing that happens in football unless there's a real reason for it. McGeady playing against his country of birth for example. Naismith, as an ex-Rangers player, was booed in the last 20 minutes or so by the Irish fans.

Players are often booed after a reckless challenge.

I have to admit I probably feel a stronger bond to Celtic than the Irish national team.

If the Ireland fans started booing Brown or Mulgrew I wouldn't have joined in, but I'm not going to feel sorry for poor wee Chuck after Quinn gives him a kick. I'm there to support Ireland.
