Anyone know about the ins and outs of how it happened? Was the guy just drunk and fell over the barrier?

When I asked about McGeady it wasn't in direct comparison to Maloney more the whole team. Would he play before Anya? Naismith? Snodgrass? Like I said over the last few years I've read plenty of Irish supporters who have wondered what all the fuss is about.

Well most normal people class their place of birth and where they grew up as their country.

But no doubt you have other criteria.:87:

Not really, I spent the first 8 years of my life growing up in Austraila and still called myself Scottish. Nobody had the right to tell me I'm not either.

So if I moved to India tomorrow and had a child there that child would be Indian?

Nobody has the right to tell anybody what nationality they are. Aiden spent every summer in Ireland has a child and comes from a family rich in Irish heritage. He grew up wearing Ireland jerseys hoping to one day play for his country, Ireland.

I dont really care who he plays for but Aiden McGeady playing for the Republic of Ireland doesn't make him Irish. His parents aren't Irish either. He would have played for Scotland had Scotland played him at schoolboy level so don't talk nonsense.

Why did he grow up wearing Ireland jerseys then and not Scotland jerseys?

Playing for the ROI doesn't make him Irish, considering himself Irish makes him Irish.

I had an Ireland jersey when i was wee because i was a Celtic fan and somehow thought this made me a bigger Celtic fan. Where does he say he wanted to play for Ireland? I have only ever seen him say he played for Ireland because he had already done so at youth level.

It doesn't bother me who he plays for, i don't care but please can you take off the blinkers and realise that Aiden McGeady is a Scot who happens to play football for ROI. There is really no more to it.
