They did this with the US squad all world cup with all of our German born players. The difference was (at least with people I knew) our attitude was "So?"

Wonder if they'll do it with England. Seriously, seriously doubt it.

Shaun Maloney grew up here * sake. He's as Scottish as any of us. As is Steven Fletcher.

One who read and writes in English...plus, I think the other way was already taken.

I'm pretty sure I've commented on lots of other posts, can't EVER remember commenting on this subject before.

Where Does Jimmy Johnstone Rank Among the Worlds Greatest Players

    You...

I'm going to stop there Port B(h)oy because I'm sure you get the gist.

If you would rather I went on I can but as you well know, your whole remit on here has been debunking Celtic legends (lack of) caps...

    Shall I go on?

It would be fascinating to see these stats for other countries, although I don't think it would help Ireland's case, since no one else does it with their zeal.

Did you know that if you counted up the players that Ireland has taken to their 3 WC trips world, HALF were not born in Ireland.

Don't get banned, lads. Remember there's a game on Friday. These type of posters will blow away in time, just like they always do.

Sorry, I stand corrected. Although could you tell me the date? I'm getting old and forget things. I know I've made this case before, I just thought it was on another site.

Did you never learn to read and write English? You must be a thick paddy or perhaps the decedent of one.:icon_mrgreen:

Exactly. A 100% Scot. Don't see him retiring from international football like some born and bred Scots (McCulloch anyone ?)

Don't get me wrong there are some bangers in amongst it looking for caps when they're not Scottish at all (Phil Bardsley's Dad was born in Scotland while his Grandparents were up here on holiday I believe). That makes a mockery of the grandparent rule.
