He's still got caps, though. He also represented Scotland at youth level. So he chose Ireland over Scotland.

Kinda proves the people wrong that were claiming the abuse is only because they chose Ireland (and nothing to do with the fact they are two very good footballers).

 

I accept not all the abuse Is sectarian or racist I'm sure most of it isn't but do you accept there will be a good amount of it just because they are playing for Ireland

 

Pearce was also born in England, and he has never played in Scotland, so you can't really gauge how much abuse he might or might not have got when playing at grounds throughout Scotland. We do know how much abuse McGeady and McCarthy received though.

You are completely over estimating the number of sectarian fans in the Tartan Army in my opinion. Probably due to what it was like a few decades ago.

 

If I were a footballer I wouldn't play for Scotland. I want Scotland to win etc but I would never be able to stomach playing and representing all the bigots.

If he played against us, there are many members in the country who would give him the 'Plastic Paddy' treatment and abuse.

I've met Irish folk grown up in Glasgow who have all suffered that abuse and more and I can assure you they were * at football.

 

He chose Ireland because he probably didn't think he would get a chance for Scotland ( for some strange reason because there * :smiley-laughing002: ) he did it just to play for an international team Mcgeady and Mccarthy played for Ireland purely because they feel irish not for any sporting advancements

 

Well he's in the squad for the Scotland game. I've not heard or read anything about him yet. All the talk is about McCarthy and McGeady - you'd think if anyone cared Pearce would also be in the discussion.
