Booing at this game will be nothing new to McGeady. He was booed the length and breath of the country with Celtic so He will be well used to it. I am sure he will hear a few howls of * * as well. Again this will not be anything he has not endured in past.

Have they not? Apart from my dad's (Irish) generation I think they've supported Scotland as much as anyone else. Certainly the Scottish Celtic fans.

But it's not actually ran by "Huns" (in whatever term of the word you're meaning), is it?

You are inciting hatred by putting this view across.

    Good for you.

If that's how you feel, why should you let anyone else tell you differently!

Some of Ireland's greatest sons were born into the diaspora, and yet are/were as Irish as any other born on the island.

    Yes.

You have a hardon for the HFA. Is it just because you support their football team?

Did you not know we are only playing two players for that game. Interesting to see that they are expected to get a clatter as well

Not sure who I'll be supporting for this match as my second names Irish and I have family I've never seen from Ireland.

I'd rather they weren't but horrid, distasteful songs are part of football, they're sang in all leagues across the world.

My larger point is club rivalries and the baggage that comes with it should be left at the door when supporting your national team. That's the way I see it and I believe that's the way the vast majority of Scottish Celtic fans see it.

    No, they haven't.

In fact a number of academic studies and researches (for example by Carlos Seco Gonzalez and others, which are available on the internet) have shown that traditionally Scottish-born Celtic fans haven't been great supporters of the Scottish national teams- for a number of reasons.

    Cringe!

No one is telling him he has to support Scotland or not support Ireland.

I'd be a hypocrite. I don't have a Scottish bone in my body but i support Scotland over my nation of birth and my parents' and their parents'...

Just imagine McGeady skelping one in near the death and running about mental cupping his ears :56:

Given the context of this conversation, what do you think?

    Campbell Ogilvie. Hun or not?
