Well ive already mentioned the Im alright jack reference earleir, but since you missed it........i am not an "im alright jack" guy, which is why i do not want Scotland separating from England and leaving the working class people there with even less money to go around when we take the oil away.
I care as much for the poor in England as i do the poor in Scotland.

Also, i am firmly in support of any campaign to get rid of the House of Lords.....and the monarchy.

Im not a British nationalist.I want Britain to unite and have closer and closer ties with all Europe and beyond in time.
I believe UKIP is a reflection of financial crisis, and will wither away as soon as soon as people feel secure again.
I think they will impact at the next General Election, but i think it will be their peak, and if anything, they will prevent the Tories getting in again.

We are moving too far from the thread.Just stop being so bitter and i will debate with you.I really feel like name calling in here often, but ultimately you get no respect, and even less satisfaction.Try talking.

If you were true to your principles you'd of voted YES!

Self interest as you have already admitted.

What reasons of self interest?Mate, i can assure you it means nothing to me financially either way.
I voted for NO because i dont accept the merits offered up, or believe they can be delivered, and i dont see the point in peoples separating when they should be uniting.

I am happy the whole process seems to have jolted everyone out of their apathy, and hope to see some benefits in the future.(not personally)
I wont notice anything personally at all.

If you believed they can be delivered through the corrupt Westminster system then you're deluded.

Maybe i forget what ive written, but where did i admit i voted No out of self interest?

It means nothing to me on a personal level.I will see no change, i will not benefit in any noticeable way whatever the outcome.....i voted because i believe the rise of the right wing at present all over Europe, will wane.....and i dont see the point in splitting an island into different countries competing for the same markets, just because we also, like Europe, have seen a rise in nationalism.

Of course in Scotland, its well disguised and not really nationalism as the SNP are left wing now...so its nationalism by name only. Maybe for some.

Mate, im ok, but im not wealthy at all.Really.I have a council flat and i pay rent and i am no spring chicken.
I have to work.I have no pension put aside and i cannot see a day when i can retire.I get my little pleasures, but i work my * off for them.

They are no my mob.I voted for the prevention of division, not for anything to do with British nationalism.....the same as most of the 2 million who voted similarly.

PS.I dont actually think you are all "nationalists", but i think a good few are.

You would of saw socialism in an independent Scotland

Socialism will never EVER be delivered through the current Westminster set up.

The only way it can be achieved would be in a federal Britain with less centralised power to London.

You would be against this as you're against division? you believe in 'unity'.

Except of course when it comes to Ireland.

I do believe in unity for Ireland, if thats what the people want......but i think its a generation away at least.I think it will come though.

Everything else.....i cant argue anymore.I did all this before the referendum.I know people are gutted, but dont be so personal. We dont all think alike in this world, but it doesnt mean we are all bad.

    Voted Yes.

Up until the last general election I'd always voted Labour but there aint no Labour anymore, theres no Skinners or Benns or Foots.
So decided to vote SNP hoping that they would get enough power to give us the chance of Independence so that we could vote for a government we wanted and not one the south of England wanted. They gave us that chance but sadly the majority of this country didnt feel the same way as myself and 1.6 million others.

    Next time though :50:

Keep voting SNP in the holyrood elections. We need to maintain their absolute majority so we have a right to call another referendum whenever circumstances make a win look likely. Also I think we need to do the same in the westminsters because Labour look like they are going to be the worst bet for the biggest amount of powers coming to us. They dont want to give us too much separation because they want to retain an excuse to use Scottish Labour MPs to vote on English only matters. That is undemocratic IMO and will mean less powers are devolved to Scotland. I hate to say it but the Tories are offering us a lot more powers than Labour. Its complicated though because the Liberals are into giving us more powers too so a Lib-Lab coalition in westminster might mean the Liberals use their leverage to get more devolution. Either way I personally would never vote UK Labour again on principle and hope they get wiped out soon. IMO it doesnt matter who gets in in the next westminster election in terms of welfare etc because Milliband has already said he will continue Tory austerity plans. I think the only hope to make UK Labour go back to their roots is to wipe them out now.
