In all seriousness though, the man was ranked the 14th best player in the world 2001 and 12th 2003 going by the ballon d'or votes. And that was playing in the Scottish league. Can you imagine a player achieving that ever again by the looks of it right now?

 

On top of that, actually wining the golden ball on year despite SPL goals being the lowest ranked and players from Spain, Italy, England getting a much easier ride. He has to score over 50 goals just to compete with people in richer and bigger countries scoring 25-30 - and yet he did it.

It's impossible to quantify just how much of an utter * hero this man is.

 

Coming back from an horrendous broken leg as well.

It's always interesting looking back at older videos. I think the pace of the game has changed significantly even since Larsson was playing. I don't think he would've been as prolific as Messi, but in the same team? Holy *!

 

Hero certainly doesn't come close to describing him . For the most part of his career at Celtic he had wonderful back-up with several players who could have featured in most teams in England . Those were mighty days, when we had a team that nearly came close to the Lisbon Lions . 10/12 years ago we didn't realise how lucky we were to have a team as good as we had . Will we ever get as good again .

 

It must of been great back in the day knowing you had a player who could and probably would score every game now we have stokes older guys don't realise how lucky they had it

 

Does anyone think it will happen again a player of that quality

 

Best celtic striker ive seen play a competitive game for celtic was hooper seen sutton and Hartson but not in their prime. Older brother constantly annoys ne over the fact I never seen him play. What id give to see him play one competitive game charity matches don't really count.

 

Course it will. He wasn't the first world-class player at Celtic and he won't be the last.
