I think the muted celebration was just John Guidetti being...well..John Guidetti.

His arrogance coming across as if to say "aye, I can do that, now why'd you no * start me anymore" kind of thing.

Cantona (not in relation to Guidetti here) used to do that celebration where he'd just stand still and look around, Ronaldo does it as well. Both arrogant *. Zlatan the king of arrogance often doesn't over-celebrate after banging one in(innuendo intended)

Well aye. He can't really claim it as his scorcher since there is a large slice of luck in the deflection. He might have slipped for a penalty but he is still the guy that put it away.

I think the fact that he celebrates the other two goals supports this.

Nah, I'm sorry but I'm not buying that..

It was a slight deflection but if your gonna slip under no contact and be this 'has to be a perfect goal' player, then it's beyond me how he can celebrate at tynecastle and not Saturday..

    Hey Folks,

I'm a Feyenoord fan with a thing for Celtic, two beautiful passionate clubs. I have been lurking around here for a while since Guidetti went to Celtic and decided to make an account to chat around a little and shine some light on this whole Guidetti soap from our perspective. I hope i'm welcome here :)

Our technical director Van Geel indeed confirmed John Guidetti is a very interesting option for next season. According to him, Guidetti isn't going to sign a contract for Celtic which means he's a free agent at the end of current season. He's been in Glasgow together with our player-mentor to watch the match and to have a chat with John about his future.

Rumors are, Guidetti does want to move back to Feyenoord next season. If Feyenoord can affort his wages, they will contract him and pair him up with Dirk Kuyt. If they can't match his demands, Kazim Richards will most likely sign a permanent contract.

Personally, i think Guidetti will return to Feyenoord next season. Van Geel already tried getting John back for a couple seasons now but his medical situation and transfer-fee made him hesitate. Now that he proved to be fit and the fact he's a free agent soon make me believe that this is the moment for Van Geel to pull the trigger. Achabhar will get his contract extended and will be our backup for the center forward position, Kazim will return back to Turkey.

Id say there was a good chance it will happen, he's been poor for Celtic. Unfit, clumsy at times, not really played well for any length of time and doesn't look like the kind of player we need up front.

Guidetti's style id call a poor mans Giroud, Celtic really need a poor mans Lewandowski/Benzema - faster, more mobile, harderworking player who can roam around a bit more due to our style of play which relies a lot on fit, quick, energetic players closing down the opposition.

A bit harsh, he has been decent and showed in glimpses what he can do. His attitude has made him hard to love for the fans, but he would be a pretty good signing for either Celtic or Feyenoord. His pace really is his main problem. The dutch league is slower and more technical so he might be better suited for them.

    Welcome to the forum.

You got the good version of Guidetti, slim, agile and happy / arrogant when he is scoring goals.

The reason I think Guidetti will go back is that it is probably the wrong thing to do. This is not having a go at Feyenoord at all but rather at Guidetti. He will think that he has to do the same thing to get the same results as before.

Most people in football say you "should never go back" and with good reason - it rarely works out. If Guidetti had any sense he would be looking to broaden his horizons and try new challenges in new environments.

But we all know that Guidetti is not drawn towards sense, he will go where his emotion leads him, so that means Feyenoord stand a good chance.

However be warned, the Guidetti you will get now is possibly not what you seen before. He is not the most mobile of strikers and has been replaced as our first team striker by a £600K signing from the English lower leagues.

His much touted behavioural issues have been more evident with each passing week. If everything is not going right "for team Gudetti" then he will begin to sulk and act sullen. He IS the white Balotelli without the track record.

His medical track record means he may struggle to get to previous levels. Maybe not, but to have such a huge setback and comeback (and progress) takes massive dedication and a huge work ethic. Gudetti has shown he might not have that within him.

Despite my negativity about him, I hope he grows up and, if that's at Feyenoord, you have a chance of getting an excellent player.

Every club want to be the one who "fixes" the broken player and reaps the rewards, however having watched Gudetti first hand since he signed with us, he is nowhere near that person yet.

I'd be happy with him out my club (in his current status) and you, and John by all accounts, would be happy with him at Feyenoord, so we all win.

Good luck - I think you will need it. :50:

I hope Feyenoord offer him a contract, purely because the competition would put off Lawwell. Anything to help stop us signing him permanently.
