    Listening to ITV pundits at half-time. Do they really think that the game is pointless/they won't learn from it because Portugal are down to 10 men??? Never heard such an excuse given in my life.

    I would say they have plenty to learn from it.

    They seem to always produce similar types of player that cant really play together.

    Beckham, Lampard, Gerrard, Scholes and Joe Cole they had none of whom could really defend.

    Also had a lot of good centre-halves at the same time Terry, Ferdinand, Carragher, Campbell now they have none.

    And strikers, they've never had 2 who could function well together. Cole, Owen, Fowler, Shearer - cold maybe have played one of them with Sheringham.

    Now its the same where they have Alli and Barkley who are probably their two best centre-mids but again they can't really defend and its hard to put a team together as they only have really 1 wide player who is Sterling and then up front they don't have a parnership again, Rooneys a passanger and Kane and Vardy probably prefer to play alone, Strurridge can work with someone but he probably prefers to be the main striker with someone playing off him.

    They've never had an actual team unit where players were good together.
