    I get the feeling Celtic aren't very enthusiastic about pursuing this. Not a word from the club one way or the other. I think after the Scepovic U-turn, they just wanted this one to go away.

    Hopefully I'm talking *, but I can see a wee soundbite coming from lawwell later. Along the lines of "John was one we were interested in, but we just couldn't get the deal over the line"

    Deila has constantly said he needs two for every position. As we have seen Stokes doesn't work in Deila's team playoing one up front so it makes perfect sense to bring in two similar strikers and have them battling it out for the position and also cover for injuries.

    This in effect ends Stokes and Griffths chances of starting up front on there own. They will now probably be utilised in other roles across the 3 attacking midfield positions in the 4-2-3-1.

    Playing against a wee first division team doesn't excite me at all. Hopefully that wee tribute act will be dead and buried before the seasons out.

    Looking forward to them playing in Europe though.

    That could be a good thing, meaning they are doing something behind the scenes before confirming anything. No news can sometimes be good news.


    It's all guesswork at the moment, NONE of us know anything substantial, just need to wait.

    No need in being overly negative saying 'he isn't coming * the queen' but at the same time no reason to be overly positive.:50:

    The best things I've seen Stokes, the supposed striker, do in ages have been set-pieces. He can get himself to the bench, I'd rather play the Thumb at this point. Hope we can salvage this but I'm not confident. * SFA.

    Edit: after reading that STV article, I'm confident that our friends at the *' International * Ardfheis can sort out this mess. :smiley-laughing002:

    * knows, maybe RD has other plans as well as the 4-2-3-1, maybe realised that 2 up top is perhaps the way to go at least in domestic games.

    He may also have ideas of turning Stokes into an attacking mid, he also seems to like Griffiths out wide more than centrally.

    Who knows? No me anyway:56:
