No chance the deal will be sorted out before the Europa League line and why the * would the boy want to play against Hamilton and Ross County without European football of some kind?

 

Don't see how when he hasn't signed.... The paperwork wasn't submitted.

Am i right in saying English clubs can loan players all through the season regardless of transfer windows (up to 5)? What's the deal with Scotland? I presume it's window only?

 

Where's it officialy saying this stuff?

STV understands both clubs and the player reached agreement on the move but that although initiated, the transfer was not finalised.

All international transfers are now processed through FIFA's online Transfer Matching System (TMS). Though the clubs began the TMS process, the FIFA system did not confirm the move before the summer transfer deadline.

Though the transfer window system is intended to limit any player moves, exceptions can be made if the world governing body approves. Celtic and Manchester City would have the option to ask for Guidetti's move to be ratified even though it was not processed in time.

Celtic would first need to have confirmation from the SPFL that Guidetti's domestic registration would be allowed. If that registration is granted, Celtic would then ask the Scottish FA to approach FIFA on their behalf to ask that mitigating circumstances be taken into account and the transfer approved.

Though Guidetti could be released by Manchester City at any point during his contract, he would have to have been freed before the transfer deadline in order to sign for any club as a free agent before the next transfer window open in january
Celtic have to submit their playing squad for the Europa League group stage by midnight (CET) on Tuesday September 2

 

So it won't be happening then....

The paperwork from what i told was submitted, and according to some sources i know, Pistol pete and all parties actually tried to get this over the line in time.. the delay was down to scepovic im being told. The guy * us over by leaving it late then * us over again when we moved on and celtic shat themselves as they thought the deal was burried... he left CP last night in a posotive frame of mind... The deal will get done just give it time.

 

STV can go and melt. Not believing anything until i see him in a celtic shirt

That bit from STV is positive. Says the two clubs and player were in agreement, but that we just missed the deadline. Provided the SPFL and FIFA agree the deal was attempted reasonably within the time frame, we'd be unlucky to have our bid for an extension rejected.

 

Worst case scenario, we sign him in January...

On the bright side of things, at least we now have a striker who can lead the line (hopefully) and is better than Stokes/Griffiths.

He was at CP for 6 hours, how the * could the paperwork not be completed in that time?

Falcao arrived in Manchester after 7 and they managed to get that all done with an extension & he's a foreign player so it's much more paperwork.

Welbeck was at Arsenal for about 3 hours and they managed to get that over the line as well.

There's something not right about this.

Apparently its because Scepovic made a dramatic U-turn and decided that he 'wants' to come here after Getafe couldn't sign him, whereas Arsenal and Man United were only working to get one deal over the line.

Not sure what to believe right now.

 

Will we get this guy or not
