Yeah, Griffiths is a decent SPL quality striker but a million miles from what's needed for Europe.

Damage is done now, from the 2-1 v Barca game we are too far backwards. Will take years now to get back to then (if it's even possible). Most depressing window I've seen since about 1994.

    We are exactly that!

Board has no ambition beyond the league and maybe a cup...

They've got the ST money in...

They ve got 6 euro matches and no ambition beyond that as a Liverpool or Monaco would destroy us in knockout anyway.

It's a proper fk up though as every year you go backwards takes more than a year to put right in football...

Don't really know what to think beyond this right now!

We'll still win the league but Fenerbache and Ajax are gonna demolish us

You/we have seen very little of Janko and the other two we know near enough nothing about.

You can hardly call that 'sorted'.

That quote from "Ronny" is a joke :56:
    Clearly written by the club.

I never thought when Lennon had us in the group stages and we desperately needed a striker, that two years on we'd have gone even further backwards. Ciftci number 7 and Griffiths number 9, that is a sad state of affairs. At which point does the rest of the SPFL wake up and say "hang on a minute, they're just an SPFL quality team" and start playing us the way they would any other SPFL side.

CELTIC Football Club is delighted to announce that it has signed Jozo Simunovic, aged 21, from Croatian champions Dinamo Zagreb on a five-year contract.
Jozo is a highly rated young player and is currently part of the Croatian U21 national team and he joins hot on the heels of Ryan Christie who agreed a move from Inverness Caledonian Thistle earlier this evening.
Jozo said: “I am absolutely delighted to join Celtic. I know what a huge club I am joining, one of the biggest in Europe, and I know about its history and its great supporters.
“I can’t wait to get started and join up with my new team and begin my career at Celtic.
“I am looking forward to this move very much, I am desperate to get to Scotland and play at the famous Celtic Park.
“I know we have a lot to play for this season and there are many exciting times ahead, this is my reason for joining Celtic.
“I want to win things in my career and I think I can do this at Celtic. All I can promise the supporters is that I will be giving everything I have in every game to win and bring some good moments to our fans.”
Celtic Manager Ronny Deila added: “We are so pleased that Jozo is joining us at Celtic and I am sure he will be a great addition to our squad.
"He is a very talented young player and good on the ball, but he will also give us strength and stability in defence. I am sure he will be a success for us.
“I believe what we have done in the summer has given us a squad with real depth for the season ahead.
“We already had a strong squad going into the summer period and we have now signed eight quality players in this transfer window.
“Again we will once again look to strengthen in the January transfer window.
"We have the resources available to do this and this is something we always aim to do, ensuring that we are as well equipped as possible to bring our supporters as much success as we possibly can.”

Agree with all of that. Like I said, our window has been far from ideal and I am not happy with it but my beef is with folk doing the "Aberdeen could win the league now!!!!" routine.

A think I've argued the point very well many times before in that Hooper doesn't have many if any more attributes than Griffiths.

He can't head a ball which is pathetic for a striker and he has very little pace and he's lazy and he can't shoot very well unless he's he's 5 yards out.

Hooper was useless at hold up pay as well. That wasn't his style Celtic developed his game better at that. We'll do the same with the Thumb.

    * off Celtic.

He was probably signed a few hours ago. Your little game doesn't work Celtic.

Lets be honest lennon left for one reason- we didnt and werent going to back him. I like deila but hes used to working with no money so was ideal for lawell. I argued with guys on here saying we were downsizing- i called them negative. I was wrong, slowly but surely celtics board is sucking the optimism out of me. We sold wanyama and hooper for 17 million, forster for 10 but think we got 8 and now van dijk for 11 rising to 13- what have we to show for all thst money? A team that couldnt beat malmo granted van dijk was still there. He was our best player so * knows were that leaves us.

To be honest that would probably have been the case had we kept Scep/replaced him and Virgil. Defensively in Europe we're just not good enough or have the right mentality.

Yes.... A * unproven unknown that (be honest) nobody had heard of!

Going by our recent success rate with this sort of buy... I'll not expect much if anything of him.

I assume that next month @VirgilvDijk will be good enough to be in the Dutch national team.#sameplayerasnow #labelpremierleague #southampton
