After the defeat to Maribor, I see a lot of people defending Deila, and mentioning how they like his brand of football, while pinning all the blame on players and Lawwell. Why is it so easy to fool the fans with promises of great football, instead of more sensible promises?

I bet that a manager with similar career to RD, but without theaura of an attack-minded manager, would not have this level of support at all.

See your point mate and you might be right but I still think give the guy time to put a team together and get it playing his way (however attacking etc.)

Same thing as Wenger at arsenal, didn't win a thing for 8 years (fair enough he's won them a lot before) but the football is good to watch.

I still dont know what this brand of football is yet as I knew nothing of him before he came, and from what I,ve seen from all the games Ive been to is pretty confusing with no * knowing or appearing not to know what their job is.

What is really confusing is that all I have heard is this exciting, attack minded football he plays, yet tonight we got a negative set up, which i 100% believe played right into their hands ....this is what really has put me into a dark place.

Hurting like * tonight and sounding off, but i will get behind him and hopefully he goes onto be a success

Sitting in the stadium tonight and at Murrayfield against Legia this is honestly the style of play I can see

    [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWUmXqkCigs[/ame]

Ball on wing ... Pass to middle .... Pass to other wing

I've backed Ronny strongly from day one and feel bad for him that the board don't seem to b backing him. However I am getting a bit worried as things are getting worse. Firstly I think he changes the team about to much during games and secondly he seems to play people out of position. Ambrose shudnt b near the team but he's fluctuating between rb an cb. Lustig now seems to be playing a lot in Cb. Mulgrew being moved about everywhere. Widemen constantly being chopped and changed. There's just too much happening IMO.

I just think he needs time. We have new players to come in who should add a lot of pace and width to our team. As well as goals of course.

If Tonev and Wakaso turn out to be good players they will change the team completely. Then with Scepovic upfront we will have something different.

The 6-1 game against Dundee United was phenomenal and I think that in a few months time, we will have seen some similar matches.

If I were to look for a sign that maybe things could improve, what would that sign be? I quite frankly dont see any reason to be optimistic with the way in which RD manages/coaches and it doesnt seem that Collins can help in any way. I'm not impressed that Collins has much to offer. I wonder did anyone ask the question does Deila have the smarts to coach in the SPFL or is his standard the Norwegian league?

I blame Lawwell for this mess. Ronny needs time to build his own team.

He tried to be pragmatic, but I fear he just doesn't know how to set up a proper defensive line-up. Even with the setup he used, we still gifted them loads of chances.

Lennon's team scored more and conceded less.

Lennons team started off with convincing defeats to Braga and Utrecht.

He made the mistake of having faith in players like Mulgrew, Stokes and Ambrose. Believing we could play a fast passing style of play when the team is full of second rate donkeys who panic under the slightest bit of pressure. Until he is allowed to put his own mark on the team then the blame sits firmly at the door of a certain Mr Lawell and his cronies. I have no doubt in my mind that RD wanted to bring a few players in for these games but was probably told he can't have them until we qualified.

How many of the 4 signings we have brought in do you think were RD's targets ? Obviously not Gordon. Tonev I doubt as well. So he was allowed to bring in Berget and a 19 year old from Man City who he probably seen as back up anyway.

Exactly mate he has to many kick and rush players with nae composure he needs the board to give him some cash to sign his own players.

I just can`t believe that many fans defend Deila. It`s not so hard to win matches in SPL, you have to prove yourself in Europe. But Deila lost 3 matches out of 4. Against avarage European teams. Braga at that time was second best Portugal`s team, got to the final of Europe League, you can`t compare it with little Maribor. I can understand 1 catastrophic game (Artmedia, Utrecht), but not 4 matches without win. May be Celtic squad is not good enough to win against Barca, but Deila had players to win Maribor or Legia. But if you leave your best player on the bench, then take your responsibility and leave.

utrect were light years ahead of maribor and braga got to a europa league final.,and we beat them at home, Celtic were shocking last night playing with one up was madness especially if the one up is stokes who cant hold the ball up or run. That berget guy was pants also. Players make systems you mould the players into a system you cant put square pegs in round holes.

Yes I agree our support is idealistic about attacking football and I think its dangerous when a manager tries to live up to this. Personally on the European stage and sometimes in the past in OF games we have been undone by trying to live up to this ideal. We dont want a Mogga or Barnes situation of style over substance. I get the shivers when I see a new manager going on about style because several past managers who talked a lot about that turned out to not be successful. Managers who are very pragmatic and realistic like Strachan got a lot of grief because fans wanted a more open attacking style but I just think he knew our defense wasnt up to being exposed to fast counter attacks and you cant argue with his record.

Lennon was a rookie manager. Deila is not. He did manage Stromsgodset for a good few seasons. And our team didn't suffer from defensive incompetence last season or two. Now, as soon as Deila comes in, players like Mulgrew and Johansen become numpties.:31:

Deila worsened us, in comparison to Lennon's final year.

It is all well and good saying you want to play free flowing attacking football, but the players who can produce it at champions league level are well out of our price range. Teams must play to there strengths with players they have
