Yes I am far more sceptical. It is usually a pleasure for the MSM to make up stories about Celtic. So how very convenient then to blame Scepovic for pulling out of the deal. Where the evidence all summer sits with Celtic PLC being unwilling to spend any money on the purchase of new players. If I was to bet on the real story it would not apportion blame to Scepovic.

It's Celtics fault for leaving it this late to get a striker in. The boards plan to wait until after we have qualified predictably blew up in their face.

I don't see how Getafe could make a better offer than Celtic.. especially after Celtic selling Forster and Watt for £11 million and getting Samaras off the wage bill.

Whats worse is there's nothing shocking that he did it. It was obvious he never wanted to sign for us and was waiting for a better offer. As soon as one came in he accepted. Club knew this and have done * all about it.

"Leave the board alone you guys we tried!!!"

You need to wise up. Better deals attract better players. If we offered him a good deal he'd be here now. If you're defending the board throughout this, you don't have what's best for the Celtic team at heart.

"Are you 10?", * that was a cracker :56: Coming in to criticise fans for being annoyed at the position we are in rather than being concerned over how poorly this transfer window has gone for Celtic. You have odd priorities.

The board have had a full window to sign a * striker, not signing one is in no way defensible.

Worst strike fore since Cascarino, Biggins et al.

Well anyone that calls Lawwell a liar is not a Celtic fan . I have seen people put two and two together to come up with an answer that suited them so they could call Lawwell a liar .
Hopefully they are just stupid because I would hate to think that anyone with any love for Celtic would maliciously come to conclusions to take a Celtic 's man reputation by calling him a liar.

24 hours board to spend money and sort this, dont they realise the fans need a striker and cb so badly, if they dont sort this in 24 hours be lucky to get 30,000 at a home game and i for one will be one at home * this im so gutted and hurt with what is going on board have no clue how fans are hurting and feel let down once again

He could have had any reason for turning the offer down..

In any case as I said you're argument dos not stand up due to the fact he accepted our offer! the deal offered was good enough and the deal was done.

I was harsh due to the fact you're making stuff up about offers not being good enough when accepted our offer.

This does not look like a financial decision. That's then last I'll say on this transfer.

He did say that in the interview :50:

When VVD signed it was before Wilson left and Lennon said he bought VVD to partner VVD.

I actually admire Deila after this summer transfer debacle. What did Celtic PLC tell him "Ronny you will get no money to sign any players and we will probably sell some of your first team too, good luck". In fact if Deila was to resign blaming the lack of support in the transfer market I would respect him even more. He now has the challenge to pull off a minor miracle in Europe with a weakened squad. I am sure Celtic will still have enough quality to win the league, however it should be a lot more competitive. As for the chance of Celtic ever competing in the Champ League groups again, if the current no spend policy continues, to me that will be no chance.

The reason is that we're not in the Champions League, and thus the offer is not good enough to make up for that. And we're not in the Champions League because the board decided not to spend a penny on a team that desperately needed investment. They deserve every bit of criticism they get, defending them is pathetic.

This is actually very depressing, we have a completely mediocre strike force at our disposal and I really hoped we would bring in a decent striker this window, now we shall no doubt end up with a crap panic buy.
