ICT had only two shots on target ... and they didn't score from either

Celtic lost this match , and we all know that is down to the front players not doing the business. December 2012 was the last league game (away?) that we have failed to score.

The team put out at the start was not good enough and many of us realised this but were hoping we got a result. I will be keeping an eye on the defensive stats for ICT though, they seem to have a stingy defence and good on them.

Although we got beat today I'm not worried about it. Tuesday is the most important game for us and if we win it then expect the squad to be used more in the SPFL, which I think is a good thing.

We need a target man if he is gonna continue playing one up front.

Joke. People whine we don't play the youth enough .... That's why. Second half was so *. Didn't look like scoring at any point. Pathetic effort. Griffiths was non existent. Pukki too.

I actually think we looked decent in first half, having in mind which team we had on the pitch. I think we started playing bad when we changed it in the half time, and then struggling to create.

It would have been funny if they won without getting any shots on targets.

we had like 8 shots on target and they had 2.think we dominated possesion as well.our reserve team actaully done well.this game is not important it was like a frendly the leagues ours and we have a more important game on tuesday with a lot of money involved it could have been very stupid of diela to play a full strength team we have just had a strenous pre season,a rest will hopefully do our team a world of good for tuesday.imagine a few of our best players got injured today people would be shouting diela should not have played him or we get * on tuesday because the teams exhuasted.as i said this game was just a meaningless friendly.dont forget maribor will have a game this weekend and they will probably have a full strength side as they will more compition than us so they might be knackerd come tuesday and were fresh as *.at least we can afford to rest players.even if we did play a full strength side we would have had only 2 days rest maybe if the game was wednesday we wouldnt have rested as much players.

but i do agree we should have put mulgrew at left back and denayer at centre back at half time.

Why so much bickering? We made ten changes. Our depth really isn't that good, and it's not Deilas fault. New signings are required.

Agree with the 2nd half but thought for 1st 20 min we were not in it.

Whether or not we get past Maribor, can't see us doing anything in Europe and as for SPFL, think there'll be more games/results like this. Am just hoping that once we get Tuesday out of the way, we will get players out and bring some others in. For me Ronny, without saying it, is sending out a clear (not wanted/good enough) message about the likes of Balde, Pukki, Rogic and some of our young guys, Fisher, Herron, George, Fridg, Atajic and no offense to him but if Twardzik is our fall back for left wing back!?!?

Lastly, is it just me , but is anyone else not thinking, our players must me so poorly regarded by other teams that no one even wants to take them on loan?

yeah i agree.too far.diela played kayal in attcaking midfield against maribor which i have never seen kayal play and it was one of his best performances for us along with the ajax at home game.nothing wrong with experimenting sometimes it works sometimes it doesnt but bitons neve rgonna play upfront.

How much do we need a LB? Tried three different players there today none LB's..

We should have played a back four of
    Mulgrew
    Virgil
    Denayer
    Efe

It's important Virgil and Denayer build an understanding..

Efe and Charlie our best players.. thought Griffiths, Pukki and Dylan McG missed an opportunity to impress and were very poor.. Jury still out on Bitton.

    Striker and a LB please..:shamrock:

Teemu Pukki was awful yet again. Probably time to cut our losses with that one. He'll never be a goalscorer, and he doesn't have the pace of guile to play out wide.

Also a bit worried by Commons performance. Been suggested he's not happy about the contract situation. He's another one that looks like he doesn't really fit into Deila's system.

I think we were rather unlucky to be defeated today. ICT put in a good shift and played some nice football but so did we. Unfortunately (as it is mostly these days) we were unable to put the ball in the net.

Overall I am not concerned by the result today after Ronny having made so many changes to keep players fresh for the Maribor game. I just hope it's not going to be the same old story, having chances to more than comfortably win but lack the quality to do so.

Well done ICT though, if they can keep up displays like that, then they will do well.

pukki needs to learn to shoot 1st time and stop taking an extra touch commons is beginning to look like he wants away. don't think we deserved to lose game but didn't deserve to win it either.

Disappointed in the result. Thought we made too many changes- need to find a balance in resting some and giving the squad a chance.

Not gonna loose sleep over it but hopefully our performance on Tuesday makes today's result worth it.

With fans like you , we don't need opposition fans , why pick on O'Connell before the game , he has been at least as good as any of the other youngsters who played pre-season , but people like you jumping on the band wagon he doesn't get a chance .

Diasappointed to have lost, and by a couple of performances, mainly Pukki, I had really hoped to see him kick on.

But, nevertheless, I'm still pleased to see us using the full extent of the squad, for 2 reasons: firstly, its great to see some of the fringe and youth players being given that amount of responsibility, think it can only bring them on and encourage them to dig in as it looks like they will get games, and secondly, it makes the games that wee bit more exciting. I know its not that clever a stance, but a part of me would almost prefer to lose the odd game like this, than win with the 'first eleven' but it be a boring game. Thought today's game was quite exciting and would have meant a lot had we won.
