Just get the feeling that he would really liked to have played with us. It's a well documented fact he supported celtic (not die hard as personally I could never play for they knuckle draggers) and he speaks well of the club unless it is warranted. Why did we not go for him?

Mainly because he wasn't good enough for us at the time.

He was an average player, couldnt lace the boots of Alan Thompson.

    Scottish Bobby Petta.

Glad he never. Didn't like him as a player and even less as a pundit.

Id say Ross Wallace and Kris Burke are better players than McCann was.

Big Morten Weighorst was out on the left wing before McCann signed for the Huns was he not? I'd have Morten every day of the week...

I think he spoke well today before and after the game, didn't like him as a player though.

Agreed. McCann was definitely good enough to play for Celtic.
He had blistering pace and scored some real corkers.
But I thought he came from a Hun supporting family in Edinburgh ?

There was talk of us being interested at the time, I personally thought he was a streak of * that wasn't good enough.

He went on and had a decent enough career for the manks.

I'd say you're drifting back in to * loony mode......

Weigy was never....ever....suited to being shifting out on the left though, which was a shame.

I'm in no way saying I'd have swapped McCann for Thompson, but he was always a wee player I'd have loved at Celtic - much like an Agathe of the left hand side.

Outwith Thompson, all of the left sided players we ever brought in during the early O'Neill era were * * - McCann could have prospered imo.

Nope, big tim family from Port Glasgow I'm sure.

There was rumours that his Brother wouldn't speak to him after he signed for them, not sure if its true though.

Think Mccann realised he was overly harsh with his comments on Wednesday night and was trying to make up for it today.

Mccann was much better than both of them in my opinion..

He was no great shake but he was a good, fast winger with a good delivery..
