    This is more or less how I feel to be honest.

    While it's no secret that our league isn't particularly great, it does sound a bit disrespectful. We already have a difficult enough time trying to attract players here without Denayer making it sound like its a waste of time coming here.

    I've never understood why so many players feel the need to play down their time here. Van Dijk's probably one of the few recent players that actually said something positive about us after he left.

    I'm pretty sure they had an exceptional record together in the league?

    Considering we didn't have a defensive minded player in that team, including they two being played like playmakers as well.


    They were exceptional. They were strolling it.

    Was the biggest thing aimed at Van Dijk when he left, he will 'fail' in the EPL because he couldn't stroll around there like he does here :smiley-laughing002::smiley-laughing002:

    I think whether it is true or not is irrelevant. It's just needless and doesn't help anyone. I was disappointed in it.

    First time I've seen him being properly tested and he shat it.

    Still got the potential. His height might * him though at the top level, gets too tight to guys in order to compensate at times.

    He wasnt to blame at all the last 2 goals although I see people slagging him for them.

    The 2nd 2 defenders were covering Kanu and Ledley I think it was, was coming bursting into the box, if Denayer stopped in behind and Kanu layed it off to Ledley who was in space people would have went "why did Denayer not shut him down".

    Last one he was in position and ball went over him, if he was standing further back he'd have been leaving space at the front for someone to run infront of him.

    Alderweireled was the one done at both goals.

    Van Dijk made his life a lot easier it seems, would have liked to see how Denayer would get on alongside Boyata.
