Word choice is perhaps a tad annoying to hear from our perspective, but he doesn't actually say anything bad there.

It was too easy for him, we all know that and say it. The league is also miles below the standard of that in turkey as well.

Don't really think it was necessary/relevant to include us to be honest.

Why not... "Galatasaray was a great experience for me, I learned a lot during my time there"

Turkish Leagues probably the 6/7th best in the world. Scotland probably not in the top 20. Grass is green, water is wet.

If it was that easy why didn't we win the Champions League when he was here?

Silly comments from a young man that will learn quickly. He wasn't even our best centre half, couldn't have been that 'easy'.

Galatasaray lost most weeks this season so that's something he never experienced before I guess
Funny how the likes of Virgil, Victor, Ledley and Forster never slag off the Scottish Game as 'easy' yet a guy who spends a year here does
Laporte and Stones are coming in at City so he's looking at another loan
He's tried Scotland and Turkey so maybe somewhere like La Liga next

To be fair he was close to as good as Van Dijk who has gone on to be one of if not the best centre-half in England.

We also conceded the fewest League goals in a season ever for Celtic I think and the lowest in Scotland since 1919.

And were a bawhair off the Treble with poor refereeing decisions.

    Doesn't answer my question though.

If being at Celtic were that easy, why didn't we win the Champions League when he was here?

    Couldn't have been that easy....

He couldn't even get a run of games at centre half for Galatasaray - he was used mainly as RB, when he was given a chance.

Dont know how anyone can think it wasnt too easy for him. He iss a better defender, winger, striker or midfielder than anyone he came up against in Scotland and he's never even played half those positions.

Id rather have him up front for Celtic than Rooney, on the wing for us than Hayes or in midfield for us than John McGinn who are probably the best players in those positions in Scotland.

He's far superior technically, a far more intelligent player not to mention much fitter, faster and everything than them.

That's a tad hyperbolic. I mean fair enough, he probably is a more talented defender than anything in Scotland but the likes of McManus have played in the CL, came toe to toe with the best and done well and are comfortably more experienced than him. Denayer did struggle at times in Europe - he isn't the finished article, not anywhere near as good as he believes.

The other bits, I don't understand how can he be a better midfielder and striker? :smiley-laughing002:

I think i'd still fancy Rooney upfront than Denayer, if I had to choose.

Virgil made him look better that's for sure stick him up alongside Boyata and Efe and he'd look pretty shaky imo
