Tom English was right in saying after, why should he go back to city or even play for someone in England after this season as it doesn't get much better than here and what he's doing..

I agree, in 3 competition's, at a massive club where he's getting international recognition from Belgium and the chance to play possibly in the biggest competition in the world, next season, hopefully..

Ronny has good contacts at city, I'm sure he's trying to call on them all for one more year out of denayer..

Hes sensational for a 19 year old in his first season.

Him and Van Dijk are top quality footballers. They could play as centre-mids/wingers/attacking midfielders/strikers for any other SPL side and be by far the best players in those teams.

Id even pay to get him back on loan, offer them £1million for the season.

We need to sign this kid outright. We can do it too. We have to show some balls and get it done

I agree. Top priority is retaining him next season, even if just on loan.

Was going to say this.. Id pay £1m to have him here for another season.

Highly doubt City give a * about £1m though. They and he will make a decision based on what's best for his career.

Id say Jason will know that Ronny is the right man to develop him :50: here's hoping.

No, we can't. He's out of our reach on a permanent. They wanted £10m at the start of the season, since then he's actually played senior football and shown he is a very good player with massive potential. Been called up for an excellent national team in Belgium.

You'd be talking £15m, with about £60k a week to boot,

No chance. 5m and 20k max would be enough

They wanted £10m at the start of the season, what has he done to diminish his value in your eyes?

They didn't mate.. Ronny just said he believed he was a £10m defender. Seemed a crazy statement at the time, but He's definitely been proved right.

Did he not say Man City would want £10m if we wanted him permanently?

One thing for sure, we can't * afford him and I think Denayer himself has higher ambitions than us.

Solid player for us. Both our CB's are just so composed and cool on the ball. Total class.

Aye, even our back-up centre-halves Ambrose, Lustig and Mulgrew, all 5 of our centre-halves are quite well rounded footballers who could probably all play in midfield.

Sheer madness to think at one point we had Caldwell, McManus, Loovens and O'Dea or Thompson, Loovens, O'Dea and Hooiveld or Rogne, Majstorovic, Loovens and Hooiveld. Any one of them would get absolutley destroyed and look totally inept in the teams of the last 3/4 years apart from maybe Caldwell who was ok on the ball but he'd have stuck out like a sort thumb with his lack of pace.

I think we can afford him. Lawwell said we can go upto 8m if it is the correct player. Id say city would sell him for a lot less tbh. Even if we did pay 8 we would make that money back and then some after getting a few years out of him.

If we doubled his development deal at city he would still be nowhere near our top earner. I think the problem lies with convincing the player himself. He is ambitious and may wanting something new.

As good a chance as Messi signing permanantly as Denayer.
