How much do we reckon he is worth? You'd like to think if it was £7-8 million we'd go for it as a long term investment, as that would be good value. I know that would never happen though, and he is maybe worth even more.

He's just such a quality player. Composed, talented, strong, skilful. Long gone are the days of * defenders punting it up the pitch for us. Do everything we can to get this man, even if it's just another year's loan.

I think in 10 years time we'll look back and almost be amazed to think we had him. He'll be at Milan/Madrid/Barca or something. Truly superb player who is still really just starting to develop.

You've got to remember as well that he's just back from injury after a pretty lengthy absence, and he's slotted right back in like he never left. No coincidence that we have been much better defensively in the last couple of games too.

Ffs for a 19 year old to come back into the team and play in a high pressure match like that today you have to take your hat off. The occassion didn't phase him one bit. Please City, let us have him for one more year :icon_mrgreen:

19 years old. First season playing in a professional first team. Out-standing.

City would be mad not to even give him a chance next season the way he is playing.

Be better for all 3 parties if he stays here next season.

he should probably be playing for man city, that mangala they signed is a big diddy he looks like a copy of sakho from liverpool who is a nother big diddy, clumsy numpties who look poor technically and dopey although they are big strong guys

would be interesting to see how denayer would do against top level strikers who might bully him since he's a wee guy but he is fast as * and quite strong and a good defender so wouldnt do too bad

also a quality footballer, not many defenders in england with as good a touch and dribbing and passing abilities as him

Can't see him getting into the City team at all never mind next season. The guy has talent and is rightly a first pick with us. In saying that I see weaknesses in his game & due to the cut throat nature of the EPL he would be quickly discarded. Another difficulty for him in breaking into their first team is his stature, in a league that is ever more geared towards physicality a relatively small centre half would be seen as a weakness (maybe unfairly). For these reasons I think we stand a good chance of getting him for another year & possibly more.

Is he any worse than the £30m Mangala? Definitely not.

Can't see us keeping him long term, would love to secure another season long loan deal for next season though.

Class act, especially playing alongside Virgil.

But jealous of City with regards to this guy.

We'll look back in 6 or 7 years and think "* me, can't believe Jason Denayer played for us back in 2015"

i would say he was better than him, mind mangala is only seen as good because a "big" club spent 30million on him

in reality he was probably only a decent player at best at porto, a porto who arent as good probably the worst porto in over a decade. he doesnt get a game for france because of the mighty sakho who struggles to get a game for liverpool

imagine swapping denayer with mangala for the rest of the season? id never do it, denayer is a superior footballer, defender and faster only thing mangala has on him is height, strength and experience but mangala is the sort of * whod make howlers against inter and get us skelped due to his clumsiness on the ball and poor passing
