In the daily london he says....blah blah break into the city first team but no where does it talk about right to buy.
Im thinking the player is not interested in anything more than a year up here.

I think I prefer the uncut gems route. Some will be bad, sure, but some will be Wanyamas and VVDs. We more than cover our expenditure on duds with 1-2 players who develop into multi-million-pounders.

I prefer building a team from scratch to bringing in loans who cover us for a year and then need replaced. There's no longevity in that.

If we take only option to buy loans though, that changes everything. I know this is the reality for us atm, but I still don't like the idea of being a developer club for the EPL

Theres no longevity in the current model, were replacing our top players every one or two years anyway. As soon as they reach a certain level/value theyre sold.

Do ye reckon his first words on the pitch will be, "for * sake Effe"?

At least we get money that way when we develop a player. A loan with no option to buy is a year's free development for another club.

Foster came here on loan --probably without an option to buy

BUT hopefully some players tell their own clubs that they now want a move.. have better prospects and regular football. Our fans can play a part in this as the EPL clubs in the main cannot compare to ours when in full flow.

the problem with uncut gems is we lose money over the 4-5 players brought in. only make money on one player. not as profitable or successful as some on here make out

(ILTC ... do you have any figures for this sort of stuff?, i know you do the player stats etc but this is a common misconception on here that we have a great model in buying uncut / unpolished gems)

Hopefully not because Ambrose won't be playing.

The guy could learn a lot from Ambrose though, not many people can pull of a back flip as fluently as Effe - the new guy could be pulling off spectacular celebrations by the end of the season.

I don't think this is Ronny's preferred route either but in the short term it gets bodies in the door. Ronny will be looking to build his team over the medium to long term with young talent bought rather than loaned.

NEW Bhoy Jason Denayer has revealed Manchester City star Vincent Kompany convinced him to join Celtic on a season-long loan deal from the English champions.
The highly-rated Belgian defender has drawn comparisons with his decorated compatriot, who captains both club and country.
And when the Hoops expressed an interest in bringing the 19-year-old to Celtic, he sought out Kompany for advice.
“He is a big influence and it’s good that people see me like the new Kompany as that means people see something in me so this makes me stronger,” he told Celtic TV in his first exclusive interview. “I am fast, strong and I like to play with my feet. I don’t like to play the long ball.
“He’s someone with who I speak with when I have questions and he helps me every time so he is a good person. I spoke to him about coming to Celtic and I asked him if it was a good choice and he persuaded me to go.”
“I’m very happy to come here because it’s a big club and it will be a great experience for me to play here.”
A product of Anderlecht’s youth set-up, Denayer then honed his skills at the elite Academy Jean-Marc Guillou.
Snapped up by Manchester City, he enjoyed an impressive campaign last year for their development side and featured for the first-team in pre-season.
And having spoken to Celtic manager Ronny Deila, he is relishing the opportunity of playing for the Scottish champions and helping to deliver further success.
“At City, I never really had my chance in the first team and I wanted to go on loan. The Celtic manager liked me and called me and asked if I wanted to come for one year here.
“He told me there are some great players here which I can take experience from and this can help me. I hope I can do something good with this club. I want to play a lot of games, gain experience and help the club do something good.
“I know Celtic are the biggest club in Scotland and a good club in Europe as well. Last year the club won the Championship, so I hope this year will be the same and we can do well in the cups as well.”
The Hoops will celebrate ‘Flag Day’ at Celtic Park on Saturday in their first home game of the season against Dundee United.
And Denayer – who joined his new team-mates for training at Lennoxtown this morning - admitted the prospect of playing in Paradise and in front of the Celtic support was something he was looking forward to.
“It’s really exciting, I can’t wait for it and I hope it will be good,” he said. “I have never been to the stadium but I have seen it on TV, and everybody has told me there is a great atmosphere and the supporters are very good.
“Everything is exciting for me – the great supporters are great, the atmosphere in the stadium and the chance to win trophies."

Pointless signing unless we sign him permanently in my opinion
