Why is it more serious? Its boils down to the exact same situation, a player who isn't supposed to be playing played in good faith. Neither situation should warrant a team being kicked out of Europe imo, which is why the rule should be changed. Obviously most on here won't agree with me but imagine if something similar happened to Celtic, everyone on here would be raging about the stupidity of a rule which totally negates what happens on the football pitch because of a paperwork issue.

Probably, but, 99% would be having a go at our admin side
& We would agree it's our fault.

We would be taking it up with Eufa not the other team that we
    had been cheating against.

I agree with this, it is completely their fault, but it doesn't change my opinion on the rule itself.

I'd like to see footage of the final whistle and the players celebrating to just see if the guy who came on looked miserable the whole time while everyone is celebrating. Might be nothing in it, but the one picture knocking around is of Zyro and co all celebrating and him trudging off the park looking over at them as if to say, wish i could join in lads but i've been dragged into some bullshit.

The other picture is of Berg screaming at his staff while making the substitution. Surely if Legia are 6-1 up their is no need to have such a heated discussion about a substitution in these circumstances. It would be interesting to find out what was being said. Maybe it's normal.

Because of the lies, you lose trust in anything Legia say, you begin to question was it really human error? If it is, does it make the issue less punishable? Is the score even relevant? What people seem to forget is the score was 4-4.

You start to dig into it, 4 people were sacked. So who were they and what was their involvement? The player admitted knowing he hadn't been registered, he spoke to people. Before he admitted that he said he couldn't talk about it, which is just weird.
Is everything he's saying just horseshit, or is their worse that he can't divulge.

Their is no way of knowing, way i read that, it's something that gets journalists guessing. It creates media interest.

The Sion case, they knew they were playing unregistered players. They just didn't give a *. Is that human error, in a way yes. The same arrogance is being shown by Legia.

I think they thought they would phone Celtic up and we'd totally agree to anything they said. Again, very weird.

It all reeks of them thinking they could get away with it. Straight to the top of UEFA and Platini's telling Boniek to ask us to just stand aside?

Well the very next day Boniek comes out, doesn't quite retract what he said, but blames Legia themselves. At the very end, he can't help having a wee sly dig.

That comes across weird as well.

The whole things weird, wouldn't surprise me if the whole thing was a fuckup that went back to the St Pats game, if it did, then that would have been where the human error took place. So the concept of it being human error for the Celtic game might actually be questionable.

Legia never got kick out they were beaten on the away goal rule. If that had scored just one of the two penalties, they would have gotten through.

No if it happened to Celtic we would have been raging at the incompetence, nothing more.

It's hard trying to get them to understand that, their case is built on sand.

That's where they keep trying to confuse the arguement, people
    are falling into the trap.

    (not neccessarilly at you mike91)

I'm just sick of the spin from Legia and Sevco fans. They keep trying to make it sound like it was some how a special decision just for Celtic. It doesn't help when Celtic fans don't understand the rules.

The Debrecen case shouldn't even be mentioned because it's a different rule breach.

The current rule for playing an ineligible player is fair and as it should be.

Legia talk of honour so much that I won't be surprised if I see the Legia chairman deciding to commit seppuku

You can believe that if you want, I personally think this place would be in an uproar over the ridiculousness of the punishment.

They didn't get kicked out of europe, They lost the match 3-0 by forfeit and thus went out on away goals.. Had they beaten us 5-1 at home this would never have been an issue.

It would be in uproar because of the lack of professionalism shown
    by the club.

This place almost never suffers mis-informed ill informed,
    knee * reactions.

Sensible debate would ensue to make sure nothing like it
    would ever befall us again.

But people wouldn't know if we made the mistake in the first place
because Peter Lawwell is on the commitee & would sort it
before it got to this stage.

Illegial are a disgrace the way they have carried on.

They are saying they would step aside & let us through if we had
made the mistake, well they have got their wish but it was them who made the mistake, now why don't they just * off.

They did get kicked out by the rule, it was done by forfeit obviously but they were still kicked out by the rule which as I've said I think is to harsh in this case. Change the wording to that of the ineligible player rule and it gives Uefa room to use common sense. Obviously I'm in the minority on here but imo anyone who thinks the punishment Legia recieved was proportionate to what they did is just being baised. Take the green tinted specs off for a second and think about if this happened to us. Would you still support the rule?

The letter they wrote was absolutely embarrassing and shameful. They are pesky, desperate leeches. Can they just please * off back into obscurity now? Annoying * man.

The punishment isn't great to be honest, But the rules are solid so there shouldn't really be any complaints.

:56: I hope that statement was a joke. This place suffers ill informed knee jerks reactions almost every week. Look in the Berget thread ffs, one week he is the worst player in the world the next he is almost a *.:smiley-laughing002:
