It is up to CAS to decide whether it is "right" that a team fielding an ineligible player, who also happens to be suspended, should face a substantially different treatment from one that fielded an ordinary ineligible player. What plays to Legia's advantage is that full discretionary power is reserved to one scenario, and none to the other. It can't get more unbalanced than that.

Sport should also not be about breaking the rules which govern the sport to keep it clean. But I suppose that fact doesn't suit your #letfootballwin campaign :smiley-laughing002:.

Gone * off. Legia fans can come on here and debate it with us in a sensible manner by all means and they'll get sympathy for this whole situation but you're just getting annoying now.

As someone has said though, it wasn't a written law laid down by FIFA, just a one off punishment, which means yous are * :50:

The point is UEFA focussed on the precedent instead of the particulars of this case.

Okay, Bereszynski only played 4 minutes, but if you were allowed to go through it would create a storm and give approval for teams to play suspended players for the whole 90 minutes - Barca could just play Suarez every game and said "* your rules" for example.

UEFA are totalitarian - they absolutely will not stand for their laws being questioned or broken. Your officials should have been more competent and it's as simple as that.

interview with secretary general of CAS. Saying they wont have a problem with giving decision on monday, and if UEFA disagrees and Legia requests that, it is possible that forfeit would be suspended (imagine the mess with that) :D
Of course UEFA then has to comply with that since its a final decision (unless you go to a civil court in Switzerland)

Naw, it's about changing the rules to suit yersells. Rules are the same for everybody. Truth is ye won a game of football and ye's wanted to rub it in and it backfired due to some idiot manager bringing on a player to waste time in a game that was over.

Truth be told, the chances of CAS overruling anything are probably < 1%.
I wouldn't lose any sleep over it.

Probably, but they have been know to lessen penalties quite a bit in doping cases for example. So who the * knows. Anyway, final decision will be monday. No further postponing (well, if it is postponed it wont change anything with matchups next week anyway)

Damian you little slippery *, again you try like the other
    * to muddy the waters. It's quite frankly pathetic.

The best team that fields a team that is within the rules
of the competition would be expected to win,but if they
try to bend the rules or cheat,(unknowingly):56:.
Then they deserve to be thrown out & shown up for what they are.

You don't want to follow the rules of the competition do you?

Why? please explain, it's not in the interest of fair sport:rolleyes:

mariusz you are at it as well trying to muddy the waters

    I'm not picky.
What two scenarios would those be? If a player (who's supposed to be suspended) is fielded right from the start then the club should be done but if he was fielded with only 3 minutes left it should be just a fine?

A SUSPENDED player is not allowed to be in the team of 18 let alone play in the game. That is the rule and there is no getting around it no matter how much Legia fans try to look at it. It may be harsh, but if your club had done a better job behind the scenes then you wouldn't be in this situation now.

FYI, relax, I am a Celtic fan too (since 2005-ish), and I will support them against Maribor. I know some other people "hate" Celtic for what has happened, but it has nothing to do with Celtic and everything with UEFA's poorly thought out regulations (full discretionary power in sentencing is never a good idea by the way, opens UEFA up for all sorts of suspicions).

The other scenario is obviously the "Debrecen-scenario" of fielding a "plain" ineligible player. It makes no sense to give UEFA's disciplinary board carte blanche for sentencing there, and none for the other. Regardless of the outcome of this case, I do hope they change this rule, to give the board either full discretionary power in all cases, or none at all.

To be fair, Legia Warsaw are scum of the highest order anyway, only have to look at their past to see that.

Look, I am not sure for what its worth, but I heard from a perosn which has close ties with Legia`s chairman that he saw both an appelation and argumentation from UEFA. Arguments given in appeal were enough to change the decision about forfeit legally, UEFA just didnt want to do it because they are afraid Celtic might go to CAS, and because it would create mess in logistics since games are so close. Of course appeal gave an option to change decision legally, but there is nothing in there that forces such change to be made so UEFA could reject it. CAS won`t be so considerate, because they won`t give a * about UEFA`s ruling, or troubles that the verdict brings to UEFA. So it looks like its something like 30-40% chance the verdict will be favorable to Legia, which is still less than 50, but it doesnt mean it is a sure thing.

I've been meaning to ask this but some of the other Legia fans in here refuse to answer you and repeat the same post over and over but I feel you'll actually answer.

It's hoped that UEFA will change the wording of the rules to include "may" (may be forfeited) or something. All fair and well, however, don't you think if that wording is inserted, and the decision was overturned, it opens a massive can of worms unnecessarily? I mean, if you're suspended, you're suspended and that's it, you shouldn't play. It isn't a hard rule to understand, so do you really think it needs amended?

I just think it doesn't need changed because this rule has successfully been followed thousands of times before with absolutely no problems, yet Legia have managed to * it up.

A rule can't say "if a player enters the field of play when a side is winning by a large margin, for less than ten minutes and it is then found that said player was suspended, this case should be brought before the committee to judge as an independent case." It's illogical don't you think?

Maybe I've picked it all up a bit but I've definitely seen Legia fans demanding that the wording of the rules be changed to include "may".

It really is such an easy rule to follow, though. :smiley-laughing002:
