Legia are getting a bit embarrassing now. No amount of pity letters will change the fact they broke a rule that rendered a match forfeit at the cost of their place in the next qualifying round. Next they will probably ask Celtic and UEFA for trial by combat.

CAS decisions are legally binding to the fullest extent. They can only be overruled by the federal/supreme court in the country where its headquarters are located.

    I'm absolutely delighted by this.

When it first came out that we had been reinstated i was of course pleased, but a little embarrassed. We and been well and truly thumped and were getting through thanks to a large slice of luck and legia's misfortune.

However, since then, the behaviour of the legia fans and board changed my view altogether. To attack us in the way they have and drag our name through the mud is reprehensible. When you consider the value the champions league brings to a club such as ours (basically the difference between making a profit or a loss), I think it is understandable we more than happy to accept such a fortunate turn up. At the end of the day yes, football is a business, and any PLC that decided to just give away tens of millions would probably be dragged in front of some financial commission or another by their shareholders. Celtic are no different and thats the way of the world.

I would have been the first to complain that rules should not be so heavily enforced and that there should be some leeway had this been the other way, so i understand the frustration. Had legia simply lodged their appeal and kept their claim with Uefa, not Celtic, i would have grumbled but ultimately accepted it had it been successful. However, to make claims that we have tarnished our good name, and to call into question our integrity i believe far outweighs our willingness to keep quiet and see what happens. Their smear campaign has been a dirty, dirty affair and they can call our behaviour into question all they like, for if they look in the mirror i think they'll see on balance its been them that have acted without integrity or honour.

So to sum up, perhaps logic hasn't one out, but i believe our dignified silence has.

Up geez. Hope you get pumped out the Europa league n all.

    Mon the hoops. Hail hail.

    Any statement yet from Celtic?

The spokesperson keeps saying "we'll reserve comment for the appropriate time". Surely this has to be the "appropriate time".

I'd like Celtic to come out and set things straight RE: all the * the Legia chairman has been giving us.
