The more it drags on the more I think Legia will overturn this.

The lists did include the details of all the players that you fielded. It doesn't say that the lists must only contain players that are to be fielded ie played.

The key word here is "Include" the fact that it does not state that "solely" players to be fielded should be registered renders your argument invalid.

Hope he never steps foot inside Celtic Park again. He's a disgrace to our club.

    Article 18

A match is declared forfeit if a player who has been suspended following a
disciplinary decision participates in the match.
    3
A match may be declared forfeit if a player who is ineligible under the regulations
of the competition concerned participates in the match, as long as the opposing

    team files a protest.

somehow I don,t see teams using pt. 3 to bring up inelible players all the time knowing that thay may profit from it and can get away with it without the forfeit, so thats irrelevant...

no chance UEFA will reinstate Legia with an advantage of playing an unseeded team, would make their error worthwhile, otherwise they would have to redraw the fixtures for next week, they would get peters from the club's involved next week

Surely if Legia got reinstated then UEFA would've broken another one of their rules where unseeded teams cannot play unseeded teams, they're *.

All players wishing to serve a suspension must be registered; part of the punishment is that an in eligible player takes up a squad place. There's no way around it. Your club should have known, it's how all suspensions are served.

I don't understand what you're getting at, mate. You do know that section 3 is not an amendment to the rule above it which states that a match is declared forfeit if a player who has been suspended following a disciplinary decision participates in the match. They are two very distinct rules.

It is also, incidentally, why Celtic has had absolutely no bearing whatsoever on UEFA's decision.

Apologies if that's not what you were saying.

Wouldn't say so tbh. Him & Boruc are Legia fans. Would expect them to feel angry that their first club hasn't got into the play offs.

Unfortunately they are all blaming the wrong club. If the situation was reversed it would be a clamour from the support to have however made this gigantic * up sacked, along with the club board rather than this 'honour' crusade. & now it transpires the player told the manager he was suspended and Berg ignored him. SO he should get sacked too.

I have wondered how much backlash Legia are getting in Poland. Had the situations been reversed I would be angry as *, but angry at Celtic and whoever made the giant *-up. I think Legia are making such * of themselves to try and deflect attention away from their own unbelievable stupidity and some fans are buying it.

Sorry mate, I was refering to some oppinions here that accepting this appeal would open a "big can of worms". According to the regulations if a team brings up an ineligible player (not suspended) the forfeit may be declared, nevertheless nobody is using it to cheat

You are right that the rule could be amended by stating that if you field a suspended player, the match may (instead of will) be forfeited. But the rules are what they are and the Appeal Body has no authority to change the rules.

    Dura lex, sed lex.
