The thing about this whole Legia campaign, is that it will make it more difficult for UEFA to change the decision. If they change it, it would suggest that protesting a lot in public could influence UEFA's decisions. I am not sure this is the best tactic.

I agree. However, according to STV football Legia's arguments point to the fact that protocol was not followed by UEFA as Legia we're not permitted to present their case even though it was regarded as urgent and they were there in person willing to present.

They are also deliberately drumming up as much support as they can so that UEFA will bow to the pressure :31:

If Legia are successful in their appeal, I take there would have to be a complete redraw as they couldn't be allowed to take Celtic's seeded-position against Maribor?

Can't see it being overturned. If it did then it opens a can of worms that protesting works and Barca would then do it so Suarez ban gets reduced etc...

Unfortunately for Legia they simply aren't a big enough name to put enough pressure on Uefa.

Why is no one else worried?

Will big Pete be in attendance tomorrow and will he have a chance to speak?

And why 7am - is this to give UEFA and Legia enough time to sort out their respective business if we are kicked out?

So match fixing, part of the stadium shut due to racism, their hooligans in March causing a league game to be abandoned with the other team being awarded a 3-0 walkover, the same in Europe in 2007 with the opposition team being given a 3-0 walkover resulting in a European ban for Legia......

......and these gung-ho amateurs are lecturing US on 'honor', doing the right thing etc? :smiley-laughing002:

Right up there with the huns, it has to be said. Absolutely no self-awareness.

Something tells me that UEFA are not going to backtrack and decide not to kick Legia out after all - especially considering that their support has a rather large Neo-* element. Legia are more hassle to UEFA than they're worth; they know that if they let Legia back in they'll just have to go through more disciplinary action later on.

But Celtic were the innocent party in that case.

If Legia were to play Maribor they would actually be receiving a benefit (being a seeded team) rather than a punishment for breaking the rules. The other team who were due to be seeded in the draw would surely (and quite rightly) demand a complete redraw?

    1. What is there to worry about we are there by default so if it gets overturned nothing we can do, accept it and move on, if we take Legia's place against the Kazakstan team (Atkobe) then fine, Legia would benefit from our seeding and probably have a protest from FC Ludogrets then who should have been seeded.

    2. No Pete wont be there as their expulsion and appeal has nothing to do with Celtic or any of its staff.

    3. It is 8am CET which is the same time as the hearing last frday and yes it probably is the case allows everyone to get their house in order.

    4. Legia are doing themselves no favour and could open a can of worms with the social media campaign and could get additional charges, there are too many ifs and buts so lets wait and see if we get kicked out so be it, we lost 6-1 fair and square, the player had no influence on the match or outcome what so ever, its just a shame our club has been dragged into this remember celtic did NOTHING WRONG, we didnt even appeal the player playing that was for UEFA to do and Legia HAVE broken the rules of the competion and if their appeal is allowed to stand then fine, but what is then to stop a team who say get a player sent off and play him in next game, they ain't exactly going to stop the game.

That would be Ludogrets of Bulgaria that would be right or UEFA might offer them compensation, UEFA make it up as the go along seems to most.

The outcome is still the same ie a skew in seedings and match ups– on paper, it was unfair to our three opponents as they faced another pot 2 team as opposed to a pot 4 team. They didn’t make the draw again and they won’t if Legia win their appeal.

Guys come on, where do u get all these information. this has nothing to do with the appeal. But I need to calrify. There is a problem with a small group of far right fans (but rather nationalists than nazis). The flag at the TNS game had been at the stadium for many years and suddenly uefa delegate banned it (flag says: wild boys) and celtic cross symbols... so we were fined and one stand was closed. this flag never appeared again at the stadium. About the jagiellonia forfeit at forgot to mention, their fans were throwing flairs at our "family area" before. Not poud of it, and yes we have a problem, but at least check the infor before :50:
