Illegia's UEFA appeal fails - Going to CAS. FAILS AGAIN

Discussion in 'World Football' started by dazza297, Aug 11, 2014.

  1. Legia has a point regarding the rule stating that mitigating factors should be taken into account (after all, that is only reasonable), but I think it only applies to sanctions containing the word "may" (for example, may be fined), not in this case where the word "will" is conclusive..

  2. I think UEFA's decision is pretty watertight. They wouldn't have taken it likely; as Caz says, this could have been disastrous for them if they'd gotten it wrong.

In there own rule book, it states that they will forfeit the game 3-0. That was the only choice available. No other choice. What else could they do? They cant just make up rules to help out in cases like this.

  4. The Champions League should be the pinnacle of professionalism in football. No room for incompetence.

  5. Said on SSN there that Legia's Administrator has reicieved death threats and abuse from fans and has had to be moved out of Warsaw :56:

Lego Wardrobe will be lucky to play Europa League football this year if they don't get over this and focus on the competition they're actually playing a qualifier in.

  6. got a bad feeling this could get overturned man

Theyve not got long to concentrate on beating they tricky kazakstans. Trust me they can defend better than us, wont push forward leaving the gaps you needed. They will throw balls from there own corner flag straight into your box which will mesmerize your defense creating plenty of scoring opportunities. In fact, if a throw in doesn't hit a bar or post id be shocked.

p.s. i hope the borats win!

  11. So it is ok for Barcalona to play Suarez then cause football would win, seriously a hope this comes to an end tomorrow either Uefa let Legia through and reverse their orginal decision or legia get charged with the offence of playing and illegiable player and bringing the game into disrepute through intimidation and/or threatening behaviour!

  12. * up ya *

  13. I said as much a few pages back, I have also been doing a lot of forum crawling and reading up on this whole sorry incident and the overwhelming response has been in Celtics favour.

Football supporters all over the world can see right through Legia's tactics. It stinks to me and many others that Legia's board have been doing it's very best to deflect attention away from their own clubs horrible * up.

Celtic fc were humble in defeat, there were no players or staff or club statements that in any way criticized or were derogatory to Legia or it's fans and despite all of the negative publicity thrown at us over something we are innocent of we as a club remained professional and will continue to.

Also the New York times doesn't have a * clue about football and should not be talking about it, That article was a hackneyed and opinionated whine about a subject the author knew very little about, The only reason it was covered at al in the NY times is because of the amount of money involved in qaulifying for the champions league. It's a terrible article with him implying that uefa would be better if the Platini could just hand clubs contradictory decisions to those that his organization had already sanctioned It's complete * dribble.

Legia, * up the registration and then Legia * up all the sympathy and good will it had garnered because of it's constant petulance, The only clubs or supporters that are still siding with the Polish club (as we should now refer to them) already hate Celtic for one reason or another. So who care's, plenty of clubs hate us and many hate us much more than that Polish team.

So the Polish club, you had better hope you don't draw us again because next time our fan's wont just expect our team to turn up and beat you we will demand it of them.

  14. Interesting that Legia Warsaw, the club that pleads with Celtic to uphold the integrity of the game was guilty of match fixing in the 90s. Legia Warsaw’s 6-0 win at Wisła Kraków on the last day of the 1992-3 season was declared void due to match-fixing.A tad rich that Legia claiming Celtic should do the right thing when they have broken no rules - yet the club begging has..again!

    Cheats:smiley-laughing002:

I thought to enter a competition you had to agree to abide by the rules.

Why don't eufa slap them down, & ban them from euro competitions
for a period until they learn a lesson.

I wonder if legia are prepared to abide by the rules in the el?
