Let's be honest we can't complain if they do win the appeal we got humped! Just means they have to do the full CL draw and EL draw pot 4 again then other teams could become involved but they Admitted to make a mistake and by sacking 4 members of staff and admitting it then they are guilty but uefa might want to save face.

I just hope celtic don't then appeal and make us look stupid!

I personally think they will win their appeal even though they have broken the rules. But then on the other hand does that mean if a player gets a red card the team can just play him when he is meant to be suspended like Barcelona just decide to play Suarez and ignore his ban could set a new precedent.

First: there is very little chance that the appeal will cahnge anything.
Second: If thats the case then draw will not be re-made. There is a rule saying that if the situation like this arises, the higher coefficient of two involved teams is chosen for a draw and then the opponents can be swapped if its overturned.
So it yet might be a Legia's masterplan to get unseeded opponent in CL qualification, helped by UEFA making a procedural mistake

Third: Dont believe anyone at Legia is confident. Surely doesn't sound like it from their interviews.
Fourth: Bad publicity continues, but who the * came up with the idea that Legia wanted a 3rd game? They wanted a meeting with management not a meeting on the pitch! Anyway, Celtic refused to talk with UEFA and Legia.

New York Times, The Guardian, etc. are writing about death of what's important in sport when it comes to football. Now sponsors of UEFA cant be happy about it, having their product associated with such thing.

 

Whats the worst that can happen here? If they win the appeal what next? Surely we cant be fired back out. We have now signed players with a champions league tie in mind. Surely this would just get very messy. If they win the appeal would they just be compensated financially?

 

No, if the appeal is won on wednesday, Celtic is back in Europa League. If its not and it goes to CAS, then it will be financial compensation.

If the appeal is won on wednesday and Celtic goes to CAS (not sure if they are even allowed to) then probably outraged football fans will burn the stadium and club amenities down, sponsors withdraw and everything disintegrate (just kidding about the last part)

besides: what moves for Champions League? you cant be serious when writing that

No clue. My guess is that never by UEFA. I can see it happening through CAS though. They have been known for changing what seemed to be a clear case of following the rules, for example Contador and clerunbetol doping case. They overturned suspension.

 

UEFA won't change their mind, it would make them look stupid.
