Ir really does amount to one guy's word against the other, and a panel decided that the accused guy is guilty because the "victim" looks like a victim and the other guy looks guilty even though there is no evidence.

    Smashing.

Aye because no woman in the world has ever falsely accused a man of raping her etc.

Yup, accusation is not proof of guilt and never should be.

If this was proven I'd be the first person to say send him back to Birmingham but this is farcical.

This could be true. There is no proof that Logan is not the racist here.

there is no evidence, your right.. but it does matter at the same time.

tonev has obviously denied the allegation to deila and his team mates, which anyone can do, if no one else heard it. Evra and suarez were in the same situation. Liverpool came out the worst with that one, suarez was banned. Dalglish ultimately got the sack.

Celtic need to be very careful dealing with it, because it goes against everything the club stands for.

There was evidence against Suarez being the difference between the two situations.

How can we turn our backs on our player when it is one man's word against another? We're just going around in circles here.. \o/ hit the nail on the head a few posts ago.

    Scenario:

Your kid is suspended from school for 8 weeks because a wee black boy said your wean called him a black * in the schoolyard........nobody heard it yet the headmaster still suspends him.

Your wean swears blind that it is nonsense.

You appeal the decision, school board hears it then decides to uphold the decision because you wean "looks dodgy" and the wee black wean is a school swat.

Do you say "aye awright cool", or do you defend your wean to the hilt????

As we a likely to cruise the league and negate the disadvantage of honest mistakes this is a maybe the best way of punishing us for being a feniany club

Nice of you to mention suarez - a player who in the heat of the moment of a competitive game bites someone else. Why would he do that when he knows he is going to get banned?
People have moments of sheer stupidity - who's to say Logan didn't have a moment of stupidity, thought it would be a bright idea to suggest the Bulgarian (who apparently will be a racist just for being Bulgarian) made a racial comment in an attempt to get a player sent off? It never worked, it was obviously missed etc.

Players kick out and foul other players stupidly - look at Beckham kicking out at an Argentine boy, gets sent off - why would he do that?
    Moment of sheer madness.

That's just a theory as to why Logan would make something up - it was an Aberdeen/Celtic game, probably the most heated game we have these days. It's not beyond belief that he may have done it to get a player sent off.

That said, there is no proof that he made it up, so we can't punish Logan for making it up - but we can punish Tonev for something else that has zero proof to it??

Ridiculous. Even in an old firm game, no one would make an accusation like that. Diouf the most hated player at the time, was honest enough to come out and say lenny didnt racially abuse him, after the bust up. That sums it up for me ... the race card is dangerous for any player to play with.

As is the rape card - but it does get used by people.
Logan to me doesn't come across as a completely innocent and honest victim. He's had bust ups and short tempered moments already outwith this case.
No one is saying he wasn't abused, but no one can say he was either. There is NO PROOF either way, so to punish a man for something that he 100% denies, is stupid.

i can understand your point mate. I suppose its unfair to judge a person based on zero evidence. It just sits uncomfortable with me.

Imagine how it sits with the guy who's been accused and branded a racist with no evidence to prove it.

If he is extremely upset and feels he has been falsely accused, he could take it further. With no evidence, he should be confident of clearing his name after all.

And he may very well do so. I'm sure he'll be advised by his legal team and those in the know at our club, who will keep him right on the options available to him.

It really is a tough one, because (like a rape claim) it's difficult to call it as a false claim, especially without getting called a racist to.
The SFA are in a tight one, but with no evidence, they should have stuck with that line.
'Although Mr Logan comes across as a reliable character, honest and professional, there is zero evidence to deem Mr Tonev used any words of racial abuse. We hope that Mr Logan can understand the position, and we will support him, and all other players fight against racism as best we can."

End the process right there, where they condemn racism, support the potential victim, but don't punish a guy with no evidence.

2 very dangerous assumptions are being made by people in this thread.

    1. Surely Logan wouldn't lie about something like that
    2. Surely Tonev would take it further if he knows he didn't say it

If he knows for a fact he hasn't done it, then I'm not sure why he would just let it lie. Especially when the matter is quite a big one, and could damage his professional footballing career. If there is absolutely no evidence, and Tonev knows for certain he is innocent, why wouldn't he be told to take it higher?
