I just hope we register him properly while he's banned...

But really, one man's word against another doesn't seem satisfactory to find Tonev guilty. I'm not a big fan of him on the pitch, but it'd be a shame if he was forever branded a racist if he did nothing wrong.

This is all based on your opinion that he 'probably' said it.

You cannot tarnish a mans reputation and living career over something like this when there is no solid evidence against him. Our club is taking the right stance in this situation, no question.

It seems you can when it's a "pish on-loan Aston Villa player...some lacklustre journeyman" apparently

The problem with Celtic going to a court of law is that all the scum at SFA have to do is go to UEFA and that lot will punish Celtic in a heartbeat for going outside football to settle matters.

Yup. He's * so we should tell him "* off pal you're on your own".

These situations are beyond footballing ability.

There is a childishness in suggesting we should let him take the punishment because someone doesn't rate him.

His ability as a footballer and his character are 2 completely seperate issues. He may be brilliant, he may be * but he has 100% been wronged and it would be wrong of the Club to sit on their hands and allow that to any of our players; on loan, next Henrik Larsson or absolute * - it matters not.

I don't think they will. We're trying to save both Tonev and the club's reputations on a very serious racial issue.

    and there lies the truth.
Like him or not,the accusation was made while he was playing for Celtic and with absolutely no evidence to Logans claim,Celtic are 100% right to fight this.
As I said months ago,Tonev should sue Logan and the SFA,just my opinion.

I ain't some fancy lawyer or nothing but it seems like the SFA has cocked this right up. Was watching it on SSN at work with the sound down when they put up the bullet points of - no evidence - no one else heard him say it bla bla bla, so obviously was expecting him to be found innocent, was almost comical when I turned it up to hear 'guilty, 7 match ban'.

What a farcical joke the SFA are!
To be honest, in my own opinion, I believe that he did say something. So, I don't particularly feel sorry for him. I don't think Logan would just randomly make that up for no reason (no matter how big a * he might be). But that's just my opinion, I DON'T KNOW FOR SURE, and neither can the courts.:31:

If I call you a * and nobody is around to hear it, does that mean that I didn't call you a *? You and I both know I did but that's it. How can you prove in a court of law that I did?
End of the day it's his man's word against another, courts need evidence to convict and the is no evidence, end of story, throw it out of the court!:bbpd:

This has gone on too long, and every day our club's name gets dragged through the mud with this *, but then again maybe that's the SFA and the media's intention, they know he will get cleared when we go to the 'real' courts but when people look back on this they won't remember the final verdict, they'll just remember the months of negative racial stories linked with Celtic.:47:

I really hope we get the backing of the Hungarian FA on this too!

It is ridiculous and outrageous of the SFA to charge and suspend a man on such serious allegations, when no evidence even exists of this racial abuse. It would get laughed out of a legal court. Actually wouldn't even make it to trial. They're going on one mans word against the other!! If Anthony Stokes is called a "* *" on the pitch at the weekend by an opponent, will the player responsible be charged and suspended for 7 games?? They in the SFA have now set a precedent where it this will be protocol. They've opened up a can of worms for themselves here and deserve all the * that will blow back their way in the future!! This could potentially ruin Tonev's career too btw.

"We express our readiness to assist in every possible way... for the truth to be revealed. Tonev has always been a role model at the Bulgarian national team and he never violated the principles of fair play in the football game.

"In the case of Aleksandar Tonev, however, we demand to see evidence that he has committed what he's been accused of. Otherwise, we'll consider that the punishment is biased and exaggerated."

They can't be up to speed with the 'balance of probabilities' :87:

What's even more comical - or ridiculous, really - is that the 7 match ban has been upheld even after an appeal. It's basically gone like...

Logan - "Tonev called me a black *."
SFA - "Do you have any evidence?"
Logan - "Nope but he really did call me that. Honest."
SFA - "OK - Tonev will serve a 7 match ban then."
    Logan - "Cheers."
Celtic - "There's no evidence Tonev said anything. We appeal the ridiculous accusation and punishment."
SFA - "OK we'll think about it.....actually, no....the 7 match ban is still to be served."

Find it strange it happened in the box and no one else heard it. Typical of the sofa do anything to show Celtic up

From his twitter the guy comes across as a wee *. Taking stupid photos sticking his tongue out. Doesn't seem like someone who's been racially abused.

I see the record went for a front page of calling Tonev a racist, would have thought the 130 dead in Pakistan were more news worthy! Joke of a rag.

Edit - Think it was the Hun actually, seen it on twitter.

EDIT: Can we not put images in Celtic chat anymore at all, even relevant ones?
