They are just making themselves look * stupid now.

 

It is utterly utterly absurd to suggest that UEFA would simply ignore any rule breaking so long as the other club said it was ok. Legia fans are being played for complete fools. I actually feel a bit sorry for you on that front - I can get that you are desperate but that doesn't mean any common sense has to go out the window.

As much as I feel sorry for Warsaw, this is not an option. The rules are clear, they forfeit the game 3-0 - UEFA have nothing in place to mitigate circumstances for fielding a player under suspension (for 1 or 90 minutes). Celtic are not part of the problem or the solution, If Celtic got themselves into a situation that could be seen as undermining the ruling body, then Celtic would leave themselves open to sanctions. If I was in Legia's position I would feel the same as their fans are now but it is their own club at fault, a very expensive mistake to make. We should now concentrate on sorting out our own problems - before an important Champions League qualifier (Legia Warsaw are not one of those problems)

I personally don't agree with the decision. I've never had much time for UEFA n this episode has done nothing to make me view them more favourably. However if the same thing happened to us I probably wouldn't waste the rest of my life on a Legia forum n like many I am getting a bit bored of their whinging.

I really agree with the sentiment of this ,,, and Celtic should consider it.

BUT, huge implications for the game. Maybe the SFA could look back at all those matches where the old Rangers players registrations were not correct... Do all past matches get replayed

I don't agree either, I feel it is very harsh on Legia and their fans but the rules are clear (even if, in this case, unfair). This is still raw with them after a few days, let them vent their anger - but not at us, we are not to blame for their mistake! I still remember Rapid after all these years, a sense of injustice runs deep and time doesn't heal
