Much better performance. They team/Deila obviously researched Maribor thoroughly and didn't go all out attack. It was a controlled, intelligent performance. The mistakes were learned for the Warsaw game.

I still think we are crying out for a better striker. I like Stokes, he puts in a shift, but I think we need someone with that extra bit of quality for the group stages....assuming we get through obviously :)

As usual with Beram he went down a bit theatrically but the challenge looked rash as *, and I notice none of their fans really gave him abuse as if to say he dived.

Agree with all of that mate.

Make no mistake, this is a decent team. We played well and would have beat them on another night.
The mentalists will say we should have hammered them but they don't even watch football, so * their opinions.
Can't tell you how happy I am about this result. Finish the job at parkhead, bring in a quality striker, and I'm a happy tim. :celt_2:

Considering last week we had been pumped out of CL and facing a Europa League qualifier I am absolutely over the moon with this result.

We played well, good result for us...pity we didn't score another one or two of the chancea we had right enough. Can see us beating them pretty easily at Celtic Park

The goal Celtic gave away was a piece of dreadful defending.
When we are in the group stages they had better sort that out or they will get hammered.

Agree but we have to get through first. Thought at first it was down to poor defending by VVD & young Denayer but on looking at it again think it Kayal who was very casual about the through ball - could have easily stopped it but let it go past him and put Denayer in terrible position - if he missed the tackle possible penalty and definite sending off as he was last man.

Legia did the same to us and we all saw what happened. Am sure Ronny will sort it out and hope he doesn't revert to 2 in the middle because then it will be hearts in mouths stuff.

Denayer was miles outside the box when he fouled the guy, so it wouldn't of been a penalty, definately would of got a red card for it though, and we'd of been in deep * then with still the best part of 80 minutes to go.
