well in that case ronnie has to forfit his preferred way of playing and play to the strengths of the players

stop this playing strikers in rigid wide positions

i'd be tempted to go back to 442 a formation the players know how to play

commons can play as the 2nd striker the wide midfielders can double up as defenders when needed as can the central 2

play possession football as that is the football we're setup to play and we know its successful in europe

drop mulgrew play kayal and or biton johnasen before him

give mgeouch some games as an attacking mid support stiker alongside commons

still think vvd and ambrose are our best cb pairing but vvd will be off soon so we need two decent centre backs

 

hearing the deadline for this game is wednesday, and we hope to bring in one player, now i might be wrong but the plans should have been pushed higher with this news, one signing would not have been enough for the europa.

Can't believe Hosiner's away to Stade Rennais for £1.67m. Celtic couldn't have matched that? That's the kind of quality we're asking for, nothing more.

 

I'm sure the board are aware of the unreast following the Legia shambles
We have been given a 2nd chance at the £20mil prize
If the have any sense they should see this as an unexpected windfall
and make a statement of intent
If we get to the qualifying stage give RD the full 20 mil to invest in players along with any other funds raised from the sale of existing players
This would show faith in Ronnie , get bums on seats and help build a 10 in a row team

 

According to most on here its just down to money . If the Celtic Board authorises the spending of decent money everything is fine . Surely everybody realises for the last fifty odd years the complaint each year has been the Board not spending enough money .
Why are Celtic fans complaining now , this is an annual situation . Surely we should know not to expect any money to be available .

Tbh this could be a watershed moment for the board.

They were getting lambasted from all corners after the defeat about not spending, but they got a out of jail free card, now if they don't try to improve the team before Maribor and it goes wrong again, well I'm not sure if the fans will let this one go.

Regardless of how you see it, I think Celtic will generate say somewhere between £5-£10m even if they go out next game and are jettisoned into the Europa League.

If they can't spend a bit of that money prior to CL as it's guaranteed income then could be another revolt? It would be unforgiveable.

Yes and we have had enough ,it's time to expand not just tread water like we have been, buying low, hoping, and selling high.It's time to build a quality team with players that accept playing in the SPL but with the bonus of the Champions league every year.
Yes it's a business and one that has been ticking over nicely but not really going anywhere is time to kick on and investment is the way.

 

Remember when deadco got humped by kaunas?.They went out next day and spent money on mendes etc.. and got too Europa league final.Surely we could afford a few players for Maribor who would improve us without setting us back ffs.
