    Not picking on you but:icon_mrgreen:

They aren't guidelines, they are Laws, so must
be adhered to, & common sense doesn't apply
    in any laws.

Football is a competitive sport, and we advanced through on a technicality because our opposition broke the rules. Why then should we refuse to play, thus landing ourselves in trouble, or donate prize money to our opponents? Do you think Celtic are a team in the European tea and scone league? Grow up and stop this moral superiority crap, if the roles were reversed I'm sure your attitude would be different.

Lets think about this logically ..

We could refuse to play and lose the chance of crucial income but hey at least we could hold our heads up high and everybody can go ooh look celtic did a nice thing there, then a month or two down the line once the football world has forgotten about it, we have no money for transfers, a more fragile financial situation and potentially no European football..

Or we could stay in with a chance of a game changing £20M allowing us to sign new players, keep us financially stable and secure guaranteed European football till Christmas.

It isn't our decision or verdict.

As I said earlier in the football world everyone appeals for everything. A player looks for a penalty or throw in knowing that it isn't really one, but we all appeal and feel hard done to when we don't get a favourable decision.

Nobody else is stupid enough to blame us. Everyone knows it wasn't out decision and although it seems harsh, it is the rules.

No club in the world would turn down the position we find ourselves in now.

If we did refuse to play we'd make UEFA look foolish and we'd end up being banned from Europe.

I'm honestly shocked with some of the silly comments about this situation.

Better? In that we should say, 'they beat us fair and square and we would like to go about our business quietly and just compete in the Europa League? You know what UEFA would say? Something along the lines of 'We don't give a rats * what you want, rules are rules and just like Legia you will do what you are told'. None of this is our fault and can you honestly say that if the shoe was on the other foot Legia would not do the same? I don't think so. Get your head out the clouds.

    Away and sook eggs.

This outcome is not of our doing, the rules are there in black and white, if they can't follow them then get it up them :50:

In these situations it has to be black and white so that everyone understands that it will not be tolerated. Why can't you understand that? It isn't some small time * competition, its the biggest club competition in the world with high stakes. If they got away with this then every team looking for an advantage would be playing the odd suspended player then acting dumb when caught.

The rules aren't even difficult to understand, they totally * up.

Let's launch the 'no Legia to stand on' appeal. I'll throw in 2 zlotys.

Ok say Legia only got a £50,000 fine as the game was over anyway.

Man City finish 4th this season. Kompany gets sent off in a Champions league tie. It's carried over to the next season. In a two legged tie they bring him on whilst winning on away goals to shore up the defence and win the tie.

UEFA come out and say he was ineligible through suspension, that's an automatic 3-0 defeat. City say but wait a minute, Legia only got a fine, UEFA say ok but their game was 6-1 yours was in the balance etc etc.

They would be fighting these things endlessly with clubs flaunting the rules right, left & centre & appealing to CAS for verdicts continuously. On a case by case basis the richer clubs could pay the heavier fines, employ the best lawyers & so on. No games would ever get played. It NEEDS to be black and white. No room for manoeuvre.
