legia kicked out/Celtic re-instated *official*

CAS can requalify violations of sports authorities' regulations. If they find that Legia has a valid claim based on a purely administrative error in the previous round, they can reduce the punishment drastically. Legia apparently had plenty room left on the 25 man roster. This is far from over.

 

They'll never accept their own errors.... instead it's easier to blame everyone else. Hmmmmm.... reminds me of a certain other club, and we all know what happened to them. :icon_mrgreen:

 

It's probably a £20 million mistake. I still think UEFA are cints for this, though. The rule makes sense; the "one size fits all" punishment doesn't.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I'd be raging if that happened to us and saying we should take it alk the way to the CAS. So I can't blame yhem for their anger. I just think it's unfair and inappropriate to direct that anger at us rather than UEFA and spread these unsubstantiated rumours about us: not one of them has provided any real evidence that we did anything wrong.

 

Not that good at it. Others can probably do a better job.

 

I'm not so sure this is correct. Could you show us some examples of news stories that suggest we somehow acted dishonorably?

 

Because they know it is unjust and tried to find a way out of it. Simple, they can make whatever decision they want as long as it's not appealed. So they had to make sure they got their * covered, and they weren't able to do that because there was no declaration from Celtic that they won't appeal. So they played it safe, even if that means letting go of values associated with sport. There wouldn't be much of an outrage over not disqualifying Legia against the rules, given circumstances and result on the field.

It's not an error though, Legia posted their 23-man squad on their website weeks ago and no CAS do not have the authority to change/ignore UEFA's rules.

The only other 'real' option other than a forfeit would be to repeat the match but since Celtic can no longer use Murrayfield that becomes impossible.

 

I might be wrong but I don't think he realised you only had 23 players registered against St Pats. If you had not registered him deliberately in order to put other players in the squad instead (I know you didn't, mate), this would have been your own stupid fault.

Obviously that's not what happened, though and IMO you definitely deserved to go through with a slapped wrist.

When do you think we'll hear the end of it? Sometime in 2015? It's over for us that's all that matters. Legia and UEFA can fight * out for months for all I care.

 

Eh by playing it safe you mean they followed their own rules as they always would do?

For folk who accept that their club * up you certainly all like to muddy the waters, something which tell's it's own story regards your real feelings.

 

didnt mind them before the match thought they were scum for assaulting harmless fathers trying to watch the game with their kids at murrayfield and now think that they are the most annoying * on the face of the earth

They certainly don't they threw out Sion's appeal on grounds they cannot over rule UEFA's rules of the game,the CAS is mostly for wage disputes ie Kris Boyd or for freedom to move or withdraw labour

 

You have no evidence for this whatsoever and there is no precedent for it either. It's rumours like these that make us look bad. This is a matter between you and UEFA, we have nothing to do with it. The fact that it is totally unjust and UEFA are * doesn't give you guys the right to start spreading these rumours without any real evidence.

 

I'm getting really * tired of them having a go at our club. They're hurt and looking for someone to blame, I get that, but the anger directed at us is bemusing and utterly pointless.

 

Not sure why people are blaming Celtic as they had nothing to do with it. Definitely didn't deserve it but tbh it was legia who * up and we get a second chance at the CL. Can see why they are * off like but f*ck me they are bitter!
