As far as I understand this it was Celtic decision to pursue this further...

Indeed embarrassing for Legia, but doubly so for Celtic. I can see why the board, Celtic being public company and all, may have had it hard to play honor over money...

But seeing fans celebrating it...if you add the issues with the TV rights, the "communism" thingie and other stuffies I can easily see Celtic as being THE most hated club in Poland for years to come.

Ironically, coming down from the position of one of those looked at with most fondness, at least in and around Warsaw, due to Boruc, Catholicism and Celtic Park atmosphere.

This may well spill over to all the Scottish people as well...

You got a source for that? I refuse to believe we would do that without seeing some evidence or a reputable source.

Sporting integrity? It was a UEFA delegate that brought the whole matter up plus Legia * up by playing a banned player. May be the back door way in, but rules are rules.

Celtic were not even asked about this.....they have nothing to do with uefa and their rules.

Only one team caused this and they don't play in scotland.

Gargamel, you seem to be misunderstanding the situation. Legia didn't register this player against St. Pats because he was suspended. They thought by leaving him out the squad that would pass the suspension, while at the same time not waisting a place in the squad. He was still suspended against Celtic but they played him anyway.

Did it affect the result? No.

A s it breaking the rules? Yes.

Rules are rules, weather you like them or not. UEFA can't give Legia a pass just because they pumped us. They broke the rules, intentionally or not. As far as I'm aware this doesn't happen very often, so 99% are able to follow the rules.

Aye it's * for Legia, they pumped us. They havnt been in the champions league for about twenty years. But some * * up, not our problem.

The question is, will the board spend to avoid a repeat if the last tie? Even though we're seeded, all the teams will be after us in the draw, we are the weakest team. The board are off the hook for now, but they need to bring in players to qualify.

Does this put Celtic into the group phase or is there still a round to go?

Sporting integrity? If you're that concerned about it, don't cheat by fielding illegible players. :50:

You say that like we'd want to be associated to clubs like Legia. Don't pretend that if this was the other way about your fans would be any different.

Sporting integrity is to play by the rules laid out. They didn't.

I am beyond delighted. Celebrated the news as if we scored a last minute winner. :56: Buzzing.

Lawwell is one * lucky man. If we don't spend a bit of cash before the Play-Off round he should be hounded out.

Wrong. It was a UEFA delegate that brought it all to attention. Celtic had nothing to do with bringing it up to UEFA.

All this honour pish is cringey. Legia broke the rules and have been punished.
